Empire Films Red Carpet Scene At Rialto Square Theater
Fox returned to the Rialto Square Theater to film a red carpet scene for the Empire TV show. The theater was packed with 400 extras as Empire took over Van Buren St. The street had to be blocked off and numerous trucks and trailers were there for the filming.The Herald News reports that crew members stopped at Gji’s Sweet Shoppe, located across the street from the theater, to buy Taraji P. Henson gummy bears, her favorite treat.
Rialto Square Theater Empire is not the first to film at the Rialto. “The Babe” a 1992 movie about Babe Ruth, filmed scenes at the theater along with “Stir of Echoes” a 1999 film starring Kevin Bacon.
The Rialto Square Theater opened it 1926 as a vaudeville movie palace. The Rialto is one of the most beautifully designed theaters in the world.
Duchess Chandelier Rialto Square Theater The amazing chandelier in the rotunda is called “The Duchess.” The crystal chandelier in one of the largest in the nation, measuring 20 ft in length with 200 fixtures and 250 lights.I see why Empire chose the Rialto Square Theater as the show continues to motivate us to dream big, sparkle more and shine bright!

Alien Covenant will not have this problem as Ridley Scott has already informed fans that the new film will feature H.R. Giger’s Xenomorph in its various terrifying forms.Scott explained to The Wrap, “We’ll have them all, egg, face-hugger, chest-burster, then the big boy.”Alien Covenant connects directly with Ridley Scott’s 1979 seminal science fiction work. The film begins with colony ship Covenant on a voyage to a planet on the far side of the galaxy.Covenant then finds what they believe to be an unchartered paradise yet it is actually a very dangerous world. The film is set to release on October 6, 2017! -

You cannot replace experience with talent. Accattato has over 30 years of experience and has worked with everyone from Jamie Foxx to President Barak Obama.
Experience makes experts. At the Golden Globes, Empire star Taraji P. Henson had to remind the teleprompter that she was an expert as she refused to cut her acceptance speech short.

Anika’s makeup is so perfect that fans have bombarded her demanding details on the cosmetics she uses to tell the story of Anika Calhoun.

As Accattato used makeup to enhance Anika’s traumatic experiences she transformed Rhonda into an expecting mother with a 60s modern day look.
Rhonda Lyon For Rhonda’s husband Andre, Accattato prioritizes authenticity. Men typically do not wear makeup in real life therefore she does not use makeup on the show’s male actors.
Accattato’s experience has taught her how important it is to use the right products to accomplish a desired look. The talented artist uses Dove Men+Care Sensitive Wash on the guys as oppose to makeup.
Andre Lyon Empire’s second season began with Andre struggling to get back into his father’s good graces as Lucious is experiencing problems of his own. In Empire’s initial season Lucious has a head full of hair and he always looks flawless. Accattato transforms Lucious into a man on a mission.
Lucious Lyon Lucious’ shaved head symbolizes his aggression and toughness as he attempts to regain control of Empire, the company that was taken from him by his son Hakeem. Similar to his father Hakeem loves hip-hop. Accattato uses an old-school ’80s look on Hakeem including a slice in his eyebrow.

Jussie Smollett Featured In NY Times Diversity Article
Diversity in Hollywood is a big topic of conversation these days, especially with the Academy Awards happening on Sunday night. The Oscar nominations lacked diversity this year and Hollywood whitewashing remains a common occurrence, as Last Week Tonight talked about in a viral video this week. So that’s why the NY Times article “What It’s Really Like to Work in Hollywood (If You’re Not a Straight White Man)” is so poignant.
The article includes comments from actors like Empire‘s Jussie Smollett, his sister Jurnee Smolett-Bell, Mindy Kaling, Wendell Pierce, Jimmy Smits, Ken Jeong, American Ferrera, Eva Longoria, and so many more. It’s a long, but very engaging article in which the Hollywood folks talk about their experiences navigating the entertainment industry, which is dominated by white, straight males.
Jussie Smollett’s story is part of the section “Victories to Savor” and it’s a touching story. Check it out below:
I had posted something that was very political, and the amount of negative comments was really heart-wrenching. Then, [at a restaurant], this older black dude walked up and said, “I didn’t want to bother you, I didn’t want a selfie, I just wanted to let you know that the story line of Jamal” [his gay character on “Empire”] “really made it easier for me to talk to my son about his sexuality.” I needed him at that moment. But apparently he needed the story line at the moment.
