On the season finale of The Rap Game Jermaine Dupri announced that Mani won the competition. He joins last year’s winner, Miss Mulatto, as a So So Def artist. The rapper’s final performances were amazing and we’re sure that some of the other cast members will be signing record deals very soon.
Lil Key was the first emcee to perform. He was energetic, setting the bar very high. “They gonna be mad when I flex.” The rapper made Baltimore proud. The next rapper to perform was J.I. The Prince of New York. He is a lyricist, we would love to see Eminem sign the talented rapper.

Jayla Marie’s performance was on point. She brought her little sister on stage with her and we loved it. Nia Kay aka “The Slay Queen” put on for Chicago. Her performance reminded us why the “Windy City” is running the game. Mani took the stage after Nia Kay and he definitely had the catchiest song, “Look at me now look at you!”
Jayla Marie was the first person sent home followed by J.I. The Prince. Jermaine then decided that Nia Kay would be the next emcee to be sent home. The final decision came down to Lil Key and Mani. Jermaine sent Lil Key home and Mani was crowned the champ.
Ask Kissy reports that Love and Hip Hop star, Peter Gunz dumped Amina Buddafly and is back with Tara Wallace. Last season we found out that he got both women pregnant at the same time. Now, he can’t decide which one he wants to be with. Peter promised Amina that he would change but that clearly hasn’t happened.
According to VH1 Peter’s children aren’t bothered by his messy situation. Back in February he posted the following video which shows his daughter and son playing. Amina is his daughter, Cori’s mother. Kaz is his son with Tara.

Amina responded to a fan’s comment on Instagram explaining that she decided to leave so that Peter and Tara could be a couple. We’re not sure what either woman sees in Peter. He is a cheater and a liar yet they both were willing to give him another chance.

Taye Diggs is the actor who plays Angelo Dubois on Empire. On the series, Angelo plays a city councilman who is not like Lucious Lyon. While Lucious grew up poor, Angelo comes from a rich family. He plays Cookie’s new love interest on the series. Taraji P. Henson explained that she requested him for the role.
Henson has never worked with the actor before yet she has recognized his talent. Angelo is a very smart politician who will introduce us to a Cookie Lyon that we’ve never seen before. We’re sure Lucious won’t be happy to find out that Cookie is moving on. First, there was Malcolm and then there was Laz.

It was easy for Lucious to get rid of both Malcolm and Laz. With Malcolm, Lucious was his boss so he was just able to fire him. Laz was living a lie so he made Lucious look like a hero. Angelo is an honest guy from a good home. Although he doesn’t seem like Cookie’s type, sometimes change is exactly what you need.
Angelo graduated from Harvard’s Law School and could have made a fortune in the private sector. Similar to President Barack Obama he decided to focus on changing the community. Do you think him and Cookie will last?

There has never been a better time to celebrate the visual considering they might be getting back together. The first time we saw these two in a relationship was season 1. Hakeem was all in but then he found out that Tiana had a girlfriend. Similar to Hakeem, Tiana has dreams to be a star. She wasn’t happy about the lack of attention she received from Empire Entertainment during season 2 and now that Nessa’s here, she’ll have to work twice as hard.
Rita Marley is not dead. The singer, and widow of Bob Marley was admitted to a hospital in Miami, FL after suffering a stroke. She was in South Florida for an event yet she was unable to attend due to her condition. The Cuban-Jamaican singer is currently 70-years-old. She has suffered a stroke before but her family member say that this one is the most serious.
Rita was born on July 25, 1946 in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. Her and Bob got married in 1966 and had 13 children together. Reggae fans certainly remember her from her former group, the Soulletes aka the I Threes. The group was active from 1974-1981. The group was originally formed to support Bob Marley and the Wailers after the original Wailers decided to leave the band.

We are praying for Rita. The last time we heard “Marley” and “Miami” it was in 1981. Bob passed away in Miami, Florida when he was only 36-years-old. He died due to a dangerous cancer called malignant melanoma. In 1977, his doctor identified the cancer on his toe and advised the singer to have the toe amputated.
He originally scheduled an appointment with his doctor after suffering a foot injury from playing soccer. The injury kept getting worse and his doctor informed him of his condition. Marley was a Rastafarian who believed that amputation was a sin so he opted not to have the toe amputated.
One of our favorite parts of Empire‘s season 3 premiere episode was Jussie Smollett’s new song, “Need Freedom.” Although he didn’t perform the track at the concert, we got to see him practice it and it was amazing. Jussie’s character on the series, Jamal Lyon, was shot by Freda Gatz and he’s still recovering.
When he tries to perform the song, he begins having flashbacks and is unable to handle the pressure. Luckily, Nessa (Sierra McClain) is there to save the day.

Hollywood Life reports that Chris Brown was recently spotted at a volleyball game with Cydney Christine, one of Karrueche Tran’s friends. This isn’t the first time they’ve been spotted together but Christine insists that they are just friends. We know how much Chris loves Karrueche and he must think that hanging out with her friends will make her jealous.
According to Inquisitr Chris and Christine were seen at a volleyball match between USC and UCLA. Although we know that Breezy loves the attention, it must be difficult being a celebrity! They could just be friends, but we want tea. We don’t have any proof that they’re dating but the images have led to rumors that they’re a couple.

The talented actress will play Mark Wahlberg’s character’s wife in the upcoming film, Deepwater Horizon. The movie is a biographical thriller based on the 2010 Deepwater Horizon drilling rig explosion that took place in the Gulf of Mexico, Louisiana.
The actress and her mother’s long time boyfriend, Kurt Russell, recently visited the Kessler Air Force Base in Mississippi to present a screening of the film. You’ve probably already seen Empire‘s Season 3 shocking premiere, in which the Lyon family must say goodbye to one of their own: Andre’s wife and college sweetheart, Rhonda. She perished in the rooftop struggle between herself and Anika “Boo Boo Kitty.” Rhonda is survived by Andre and the rest of the Lyon family, but Andre is already having visions of Rhonda. Perhaps she’ll live on after death in Andre’s mind.

Another Lyon is currently recovering as well: Jamal. After he was shot last season when Freda took aim at Lucious, he had trouble performing on stage, receiving flashbacks of the traumatic event and performing is physically difficult for him.
But there is also new life in the family, as Anika gave birth to her and Hakeem’s baby daughter Bella, who Lucious is claiming as his own and even put his name on the birth certificate. Lucious seems like he’s hell bent on keeping Hakeem out of the baby girl’s life and basically creating his own really messed up new family.
Hakeem acts out due to this and Laura leaving him at the altar. He smokes, drinks, and takes out his anger on his music. Cookie hates Lucious’ arrangement with Anika and tells him that she is D-O-N-E with him and Empire.
And the whole family has a tense dinner with Lucious’ half brother Tariq, who is not buying the lies that the Lyons are selling him. Because Tariq hid a hidden camera in Bella’s nursery and he’s about to get all the dirty deeds on tape — or will he?
In the season 3 premiere episode of EmpireJussie Smollett shows off his tattoo. We rarely get to see his ink but while he’s performing his song “Need Freedom” we see the two bars he has on his right forearm. We guess we can’t consider “Need Freedom” Jamal’s song since Nessa (Sierra McClain) stole the show.
While Empire‘s battle for the spotlight is typically between Hakeem and Jamal, Shine’s artist, Nessa, came of no where, introducing the world to her beautiful voice. We love seeing Lucious Lyon get proved wrong. He planned to keep Nessa’s microphone unplugged while she performed with Jamal.

The tattoo on Jussie’s right forearm is an equal sign similar to the Human Rights Campaign logo. It represents the fight for equal right for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people worldwide. We hope Jamal Lyon continues to teach Lucious the importance of equality throughout the show’s third season.
