    ‘Empire’ Season 3 Recap: “Strange Bedfellows”

    The episode begins with Hakeem waking up after an epic night of partying, boasting about how his 21st birthday is going to be an even more epic night of partying. (I can’t help but have a bad feeling about this.)  Hakeem skypes with Tiana, who is on tour and won’t be at the 21-hour club-hopping bash. He’s bummed that she won’t be there. (Again, I’ve got a bad feeling about this.) It’s going to be streamed live on Empire Xtreme, which Andre is pissed about.

    Tiana winds up showing up, but Hakeem has words with the club manager about his appearance fee. At Leviticus, everything seems to be going great. Jamal and Tiana serenade Hakeem, but then a fight breaks out at the club. Andre and Hakeem argue about it and then Andre bans Hakeem from Empire Xtreme. Hakeem heads to Lucious’ house to get Bella and spend the final moments of his birthday with his daughter, which impresses Lucious. Lucious tells Hakeem the story of his birth.

    D-Major Facebook-lives his declaration of love to Jamal, but catches Jamal with another guy. Ouch. D-Major gets banned from Empire, because Cookie doesn’t like his influence over Jamal.

    Leah has it out for Anika aka the “wife woman,” since she has disappeared. Hakeem is surprised to learn this. Anika returns and has a confrontation with Cookie and Lucious. And Leah, who wants to kill Anika. Boo Boo Kitty decides to start an affair with Tariq to discredit him, which is such an Anika thing to do.

    Nia Long and Andre bond and flirt, talking about starting a business in Vegas. Cookie runs into Nia Long at the salon, and she takes Cookie’s hair appointment — and calls Cookie “trash.” Guiliana aka Nia Long flirt more and she tells him she won’t sleep with him unless Nessa says it’s ok, and he says it’s fine.

    Angelo finds Cookie’s gun and gets upset, especially since it was a “gift” from Lucious. She pledges to get rid of it and all other gifts from Lucious.

    Nova is a 16-year-old contestant on season 3 of The Rap Game.  In episode 2, “Like A Boss” Jermaine Dupri advised the kids to create a rap about their work ethic.  While the other four contestants needed multiple takes, Nova was able to nail his verse on the first attempt.  Jermaine was very impressed, and Nova will most likely win the competition.

    At the end of the first episode, Tally was chosen number 1 while Nova made the number 2 spot on the Hit List.  many believe that Tally made week 1’s top spot because Jermaine was excited to welcome her back on the series.  Nova should have been number 1 two weeks in a row.

    Where Is Nova From The Rap Game From?

    Nova is from Reading, Pennsylvania.  The city is about an hour away from Philadelphia.  Reading is Pennsylvania’s fifth largest city.  Nova won season 3 of The Rap Game and now has the chance to put Reading on the map.  No one respected Toronto’s hip-hop before Drake.  If Nova continues to work hard he could help Jermaine Dupri bring So So Def back!

    Nova represents Reading, PA and is managed by his uncle Ekko.  In the last episode, Flau’jae’s mother, Kia, calls Ekko out for writing Nova’s rhymes.  Kia may have missed the beef between Meek Mill and Drake.  Like Da Brat explains, don’t knock the hustle.  If you have access to a good writer, use the person to help you develop quality rhymes.


    Flau’jae’s mother wasn’t the only person who had words with Ekko.  In the last episode, we see Ekko call out Tally and her sister, Jaz.  Deetranada calls out Tally and Tally complains to Ekko.  He doesn’t want to hear it.  Ekko insults Tally for complaining when she released a diss track throwing shade at the season 2 contestants.

    Nova is the grand champ.  There’s no denying him.  He won season 3 of The Rap Game and Jermaine Dupri made the right decision.  Tally left the series early.  If she would have stayed there’s no way she would have defeated Nova.  Jermaine Dupri wanted to sign a rapper he could trust, not one that would give up when things get hard.

    Deetranada vs Nova

    The last two contestants standing were Deetranada and Nova.  Deetranada is a rare commodity and she definitely didn’t make JD’s decision easy.  When the season started, Deetranada had a bad attitude.  She would get frustrated when she failed to deliver.  By the finale, Deetranada was on point.  Out of the final four performances, Deetranada’s was the best.

    Nova laid a solid foundation throughout season 3 of the competition.  He earned the number 1 spot on the Hit List several times, showing JD that he was ready to be a star.

    Flau’jae and King Roscoe

    Flau’jae is very talented but she has some work to do.  She made major improvements throughout the season but Nova’s experience enabled him to outperform Flau’jae.  The same is true with King Roscoe.  Although he defeated Nova in the rap battle, King Roscoe also has some growing up to do.

    The girl on Nova’s Instagram page is Nia Kay, not his sister.  Nova won season 3 of The Rap Game! His sister, mother plus additional members of his family came to see his final performance.  Nova explains that him and his family were living in shelters before the competition.  He’s now a recording artist on So So Def!

    Nova is a 16-year-old
    contestant on the Lifetime show, ‘The Rap Game.’ He is pretty popular on the
    show and on social media. Nova has over 20,000 followers on SoundCloud alone! He
    was born on May 28, 2000 and started becoming active on social media in 2015. 

    Nova is also on
    Musical.ly but is also active on Instagram and Twitter where he posts updates a
    lot. He has a younger brother, named Noah and a younger sister. Both his little
    brother and little sister have appeared on his videos on Muscial.ly.

    Who Won The Rap Game Season 3? 2017

    Nova won season 3 of The Rap Game! He got the chain and he’s So So Def’s newest artist.

    Flau’jae was the first person to be eliminated.  Jermaine explained that she’s not ready yet.  King Roscoe was the second person that was sent home but JD tells him that they’ll definitely work together in the future.  Dupri even jokes about giving Roscoe’s mother a job.

    Deetranada was the third person to go home.  She broke down when Jermaine Dupri told her the sad news.  We’ll definitely be hearing about her in the very near future!

    The season 3 finale of The Rap Game was unforgettable.  Deetranada’s performance was epic.  She came out covered in a black sheet with a question mark on it.  She started delivering lyrics and then threw off the sheet.

    The theme of Flau’jae’s song was making herself heard.  Jermaine Dupri called her out in a previous episode for losing her breathe in the middle of a song.  She has improved since then and wants to make sure Jermaine knows.

    King Roscoe also delivered a powerful performance.  He started with his crown and then threw it off.  By the end of his performance he was dancing and the crowd loved it.

    Did Nova win season 3 of The Rap Game? No, but that’s who we think will win the competition.  This post discusses the final four contestants.  The competition started with five talented rappers but Tally decided to leave because she didn’t want to battle rap.  We’re still wondering why Jermaine Dupri allowed Tally to return to the series.

    Tally

    As explained above, Tally gave up.  She didn’t perform well in the first battle rap against Keshun so she decided not to compete in episode 12’s battle.  Jermaine Dupri made a mistake by letting her return to the series.  The other contestants take rap seriously and they’re working hard to win.  Tally leaves every time she’s not happy with the rules of the competition.  We’re glad she left!

    Flau’jae

    Flau’jae is a talented rapper with serious potential.  The competition was tough this season.  She was only 12-years-old during the competition putting her at a disadvantage.  Hip-hop’s in her blood and she’s making her father proud.  Flau’jae has connections thanks to her father, rapper Camouflage.  He was murdered in 2003 and Flau’jae is carrying on his legacy.  

    King Roscoe

    King Roscoe impressed Jermaine Dupri in the “Don’t Underestimate Nobody” episode.  He was definitely the inspiration for the title of the episode.  As soon as Dupri announced that the contestants would be battling I jumped to the conclusion that Deetranada and Nova would be in the final round.  King Roscoe had something to say about that.  Roscoe is talented but Deetranada and Nova have more experience.

    Deetranada is Nova’s strongest competition.  She has been through ups and downs throughout season 3.  I initially thought her attitude would lead her to an early exit but she proved me wrong.  Her lyrics never fail to amaze and she did a wonderful job representing Baltimore.  If she keeps working hard she’ll definitely earn herself a contract.

    Nova

    Nova is our pick to win the competition.  He’s on another level than the other contestants.  His uncle has trained him well and he’s ready to be a star.

    Nova underestimated King Roscoe in the “Don’t Underestimate Nobody” episode but he’s built a strong foundation.  Nova has impressed Jermaine Dupri numerous times throughout season 3 and he deserves a record contract.  If JD’s smart, he’ll give Nova the So So Def chain in the season 3 finale episode, “One Contract, One Chain.”

    Has Kourtney Kardashian gotten back together with her baby daddy, Scott Disick? Although the two look like they have rekindled their romantic relationship as they sit poolside together during their family vacation with the kids in Hawaii, Kourtney has dashed all of our dreams by letting us know the two are NOT back together. Apparently, they just went to Hawaii for a family vacation with the kids for their three kids they have together.

    So sad too because this couple looks like they were made for each other, don’t they? However, just because we want it to happen, it looks like it hasn’t according to some Instagram posts by Kardashian. In fact, in one of the posts, she reminds all of us that the used-to-be happy couple is not rekindling their romantic relationship. In fact, she had this to say in the caption of the post:
    “MOM and DAD back at it again with the co-parenting skills.”

    Now if that isn’t a clear message that they are just together for the kid’s sake right now and not together romantically, then I don’t know how else she could have put it!
    Although she made it perfectly clear that the ex-power couple is definitely NOT back together again, they sure looked cozy and all smiles sitting next to each other by the pool, didn’t they?
    Kardashian says they are NOT back together but, according to E! Online, Scott is not ready to give up hope yet and even says he still gets turned on by the love of his life, Kourtney Kardashian and that he will NEVER be over her! This kind of gives us a little bit of hope that maybe someday, the couple will be back together.

    Looks like Carlos King
    isn’t really happy right now. Although the producer of Real Housewives ofAtlanta is currently worth a whopping $5 million, he won’t be returning to the
    show next year. And, it looks like it is all Phaedra Park’s fault. He can blame Phaedra
    because she blamed King for lying about feeding Porsha Williams. Apparently,
    this lie meant that she was now a lesbian since she was supposed to have fed
    Porsha Williams. Poor Carlos!

    Well, King is not the
    only one who has been fired from the show. Phaedra has also been fired for ALL
    of the lies she has been spreading around. She is such a liar, no one can tell
    when she is telling the truth or not anymore! She lies so much about everything
    that she even brought fake divorce papers
    to the reunion show to prove a point to everyone. Wow! That is what you call

    renewal papers for the next show but Phaedra and Carlos didn’t get theirs. Not
    only this but, it has also been confirmed by sources that NeNe Leakes and Kim
    Zolciak will not be returning as full-time cast members.

    too much longer for the Real Housewives of Atlanta’s reunion show since it does
    start on April 16 at 8 pm on Bravo. It will be a four-episode reunion.
    Apparently, those who
    are supposed to get their renewal papers should get them two weeks after the
    recording of the reunion episodes are over.

Scott reports that Phaedra Parks and The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s executive producer, Carlos King, were fired from the show.  Cast members recently received renewal papers but Parks was not asked to return.  According to rumors, the show’s producers are tired of Phaedra’s lies.  Reality television is fake but Phaedra Parks takes things to another level.

    Phaedra is a lawyer therefore she knows all about alternative facts.  Phaedra and her husband, Apollo Nida, are still married.  Parks court documents had multiple misspelled words so the divorce judgment was thrown out.  That’s not what Phaedra wants the world to believe.  She brought fake divorce papers to The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion!

    Phaedra’s claim that Kandi Burruss had a lesbian affair

    Kandi and Phaedra’s friendship is over.  Phaedra lied about Kandi being in a lesbian relationship with Shamea Morton and her husband, Todd Tucker.  Parks probably didn’t think Kandi would take the lie seriously but she was wrong.  Burruss got very emotional about the lie.  She reminded her fellow cast members that she has kids and she’s trying to set a positive example.

    Carlos King recently responded to Solange Knowles on Instagram.  She called the show out for their poor episode titles:

    Well it seems like all of that lying (whether it was for a story line, to cover her butt, or to keep her divorce a secret), has caught up to Phaedra Parks because it is being reported that she has allegedly been FIRED from “Real Housewives of Atlanta”. Although Phaedra’s story line was one of the most talked about topics on Sunday nights, she may have done absolutely too much for Bravo, Andy Cohen or other producers for the show.

    “Everyone was given their renewal papers last week and Phaedra didn’t get hers. She got caught in so many treacherous lies this season that even the producers (including Andy Cohen) have had enough. She even brought ‘fake’ divorce papers to the reunion to prove a point. No one knows whether she’s telling the truth anymore.” Phaedra’s alleged rep told Essence that “It’s not true” however Phaedra has yet to speak on it herself. 
    Love B. Scott is exclusively reporting that:

    Fake divorce papers?!? Say what??? Well this reunion was taped about two or three weeks ago and Andy Cohen made a video after hosting it stating that a LOT was going to come out. A week or two after the reunion was taped we reported that Phaedra Park and Apollo Nida’s divorce was cancelled because she purposely misspelled her last name along with attempting to trick Apollo multiple times. 

    A few weeks ago there were rumors swirling that Cynthia Bailey was given the boot but it turns out she will be returning along with Kim Zolciak and Nene Leakes. Kim and Nene will only be on here part time.

    Phaedra allegedly tried to blame the lesbian rumor she fed to Porsha Williams on Carlos King who also produces the show but won’t be returning next season. The trailer for the reunion has been released and is chaotic and dramatic just like the season was. Crying, lying, yelling (oh my!) all while Andy Cohen asks the same questions viewers have had on their minds all season! The reunion is going to be an epic four parts which will begin showing on April 16th at 8 P.M.

    If Phaedra really is fired for all the messy lying that she’s been doing, don’t you think Porsha should be fired too? After all Porsha accused Kandi Burruss of trying to drug her. What do you think? Check out the trailer below.

    The rapper and actor is not only executive producing the reality series, he’s also a cast member.  The Ohio native released his debut album, Beware of Dog in 2000 when he was only 13-years-old.  Bow Wow has been a major part of the hip hop industry ever since.  He has been focusing on acting and we’re loving it.

    Lil Wayne and Toya’s daughter Reginae Carter

    Lil Wayne and Antonia “Toya” Wright welcomed their baby girl, Reginae Carter on November 29, 1998.  The series will follow her as she attempts to step outside her parent’s shadows.  Reginae’s father isn’t creating as much music as he used to but maybe she’ll motivate him to get back in the studio.

    Jermaine Dupri and Pam Sweat welcomed their daughter, Shaniah on May 15, 1998.  She turned 18 this year and was recently seen on The Rap Game, alongside her father.  We look forward to learning more about Ms. Dupri! Jermaine has recently been busy with season 3 of The Rap Game.  He’s working hard to rebuild his record label, So So Def.

    Brandon Barnes is Ms. Deb’s son.  We all know his brother Waka Flocka and now it’s his time to shine.  The family seems to love reality television.  We’ve been watching Ms. Deb and Waka on Love and Hip Hop Atlanta for years.  Ms. Deb is a respected manager.  She previously worked with Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj.

    T.I. and Tiny’s daughter Zonnique Pullins

    If you watch T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle then you definitely know about Zonnique Pullins.  She’s Tiny’s oldest daughter from her previous relationship with Zonnie Zeboe Pullins.  From 2009 to 2015 she was a member of OMG, a girl group but now she’s doing her thing as a solo artist.  Her stepfather and mother are going through a very public divorce.  We hope she shares how the split is impacting her life.

    Da Brat

    According to rumors, Da Brat will appear on the reality series.  The talented rapper began her career in 1991 when she was only 17-years-old.  Since then, she has opened pathways for female rappers who typically don’t receive the credit they deserve.  Da Brat made multiple appearance on Jermaine Dupri’s reality series The Rap Game.  She’s very entertaining and we can’t wait to see her on Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta!
