    The BET Hip Hop Awards are being taped on October 6, 2017 but the show airs on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 8/7C.  BET took their talents to South Beach! DJ Khaled will be hosting and the event will take place at The Fillmore Miami Beach.  Earlier this year, Remy Ma won Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the BET Awards.  Let’s see which female artists were nominated for BET Hip Hop Awards.

    Cardi B

    The 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards belong to Cardi B.  She was nominated for 9 awards.  There;’s not much competition in most categories considering the impact of “Bodak Yellow.”  Here’s a list of all Cardi’s nominations:

    It’s a light night for Nicki.  She has dominated past award shows and it’s about time she has some real competition.  If Cardi doesn’t release a hot album, Nicki will be back on top.  Nicki Minaj received nominations for the following awards:

    Remy Ma

    Despite winning the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist award, Remy Ma didn’t receive any BET Hip Hop Award nominations.

    Missy Elliott and Dave Meyers received a nomination for the Video Director Of The Year award.  They teamed up for Missy’s “I’m Better” video.

  • Dr. Rick Rigsby Wife Trina Williams, Football

    In the video at the end of this article, Dr. Rick Rigsby discusses his wife, Trina Williams.  Sadly, she passed away in 1996.  Dr. Rigsby is a motivational speaker and the former chaplain for the Texas A&M Aggies football team.  He has been hired by multiple NFL teams to inspire players and empower organizations.

    Dr. Rigsby explains that he met his wife in 1974 at Chico State.  He attended a dance at the Newman Center after a football game.  Trina was a nursing student from Lompoc, CA.  She was beautiful and one of the only woman who gave Rigsby their phone number.  He explained that he was broke and overweight but Trina still loved him.

    In 1990, Trina found a lump in her left breast and was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Six years later, she passed away.

    Lessons From A 3rd Grade Dropout

    In the speech, Dr. Rigsby explains that his Trina and his father were very close.  His father considered Trina his daughter instead of his daughter-in-law.  His father helped him overcome his wife’s death.  Dr. Rigsby’s father was a 3rd grade dropout but he gave him some of the best advice of his life: “You keep standing.”

  • How Many Kids Does Cam Newton Have?

    Cam Newton has two children, a son named Chosen Sebastian Newton and a daughter named Sovereign-Dior Cambella Newton.  Kia Proctor is the mother of both the NFL star’s kids.  Many are insulting Cam for his feminist comments about routes.  Amber Rose defended Newton, explaining that society has taught him to think this way.

    Sovereign-Dior Cambella Newton was born on February 3, 2017.  People brought up the Carolina Panther’s quarterback’s daughter after he made feminist comments to a female reporter.  Newton lost his endorsement deal with Dannon yogurt after making the comments.  I’ve heard multiple men say that they didn’t know what a “route” was, making this situation more confusing.

    Cam’s first child was his son, Chosen Sebastian Newton.  He was born on December 30, 2015.  Earlier this year, Cam wrote an emotional poem to his baby boy to celebrate his birthday.  Newton challenged Chosen to strive for greatness.  He explained that he has made mistakes and advised him to strive for greatness.

    Cam has experienced highs and lows throughout his career.  I hope he’ll learn from this incident and continue to strive for excellence.

  • Amy Luciani – Young Thug Side Chick

    Amy Luciani is Young Thug’s alleged side chick.  The rapper’s fiancée, Jerrika Karlae recently exposed him for cheating after searching through his phone.  Jerrika found pictures of Amy, one of her former friends.  Luciani calls Jerrika out for leaking the picture.  She says Jerrika is a lame and claims that she has receipts.

    We have to do better.  Oprah’s Black Love series is inspiration for black couples around the world.  If you know you can’t be faithful don’t get engaged.  Can Young Thug expect people to respect his fiancée when he’s out here disrespecting her? Amy’s argument is that “You can’t take what you didn’t have.”

    When you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.  Young Thug clearly didn’t learn that lesson.  In the video below, the rapper claims that multiple people use his phone so the pictures weren’t sent to him.

  • Keiotia Watson – Lil Wayne 15-Year-Old Son

    Keiotia Watson is the woman that claims Lil Wayne has a 15-year-old son that he has never met.  In court documents obtained by TMZ, Watson claims that she had relations with Wayne back in 2001.  She gave birth to a boy who she claims is Lil Wayne’s son.  Keiotia named him Dwayne, Lil Wayne’s government name.

    The Young Money/Cash Money crew need to get things together.  A few months ago, Sophie Brussaux claimed that Drake’s her baby daddy.  Once she gives birth we’ll see if she was telling the truth.  Lil Wayne already has four children: Reginae, Dwayne III, Cameron and Neal.

    Lil Wayne has never been shy about how much he loves the ladies, making this story believable.  In the song “Alphabet” from his Sorry 4 The Wait 2 mixtape, the rapper describes all the females he has on his roster.

    This case isn’t new.  Keiotia filed for child support in 2015 and a judge ordered the rapper to pay $5,000 per month.  Lil Wayne hasn’t made any payments and argues that he never received any legal documents.

    TMZ reports that singer Iggy Azalea is being sued by American Express for $300,000.  Her limit is $250,000 but Amex let her charge $50,000 more than that.  The company is no longer being patient with the singer.  They want their money.  Last year, Azalea broke up with Nick Young after finding out that the NBA player cheated on her.

    Iggy got T.I. to help her on her debut album, The New Classic.  She signed with Grand Hustle Records after a record deal with Interscope fell through.  Azalea put in hard work in the studio and on tour but her debut album kept getting delayed.  The New Classic finally released on April 21, 2014.

    Iggy announced plans for The New Classic in 2011 and the album didn’t release until 3 years later.  Azalea’s entire career has been a huge delay.

    Def Jam recently pumped the brakes on Iggy’s sophomore album, Digital Distortion.  The company’s CEO, Steve Bartels told the singer that he’s not releasing anymore of her singles.

  • Why Is Anika In Jail On Empire?

    Anika is in jail on Empire for the murder of Tariq, Lucious’ brother.  Leah Walker, Lucious’ mother framed Anika.  In one of the scariest moments on Empire, Leah kills Tariq by stabbing him in the neck with a letter opener.  Leah gets Anika to use the same letter opener to frame her for the murder of Tariq.

    After being locked up for months, Anika is finally able to get Cookie’s attention by telling Hakeem to tell his mom that she remembers January 7, 2015.  Cookie and Thirsty visit Anika in jail and we find out that January 7, 2015 is the date that Lucious killed Bunkie.  Anika threatens to snitch forcing Cookie and Thirsty to do whatever it takes to get her out of jail.

    Leah Walker is going to a psychiatric hospital.  Thanks to Cookie, Lucious signed the paperwork.  She won’t be able to commit anymore murders with letter openers.

    Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris Jackson, made an appearance on episode 2 of Star‘s second season, “Insecure.” Paris plays Rachel Wells, a social media influencer with a huge following.  The girls will do anything to succeed.  Star (Jude Demorest) comes up with the idea to shoot their own music video to get Ayanna Floyd’s (Michael Michele) attention.

    Alexandra (Ryan Destiny) is getting impatient while Simone (Brittany O’Grady) is having a difficult time under state custody.  Rachel can care less about the group’s problems.  She just wants a kiss.  Star steps up to kiss Rachel but Rachel explains that she wants a kiss from Simone.  Rachel and Simone share an intimate kiss!
