Why is KD a cupcake? They were calling Kevin Durant a cupcake because of Russell Westbrook.  Former Oklahoma City Thunder center, Kendrick Perkins called his teammates “cupcake” to motivate them to work harder.  Perkins used the term to call players out for being soft and sweet.  OKC fans were calling KD soft and sweet.

OKC fans created cupcake shirts and memes to insult KD.  They also sold “Koward” shirts to celebrate Durant’s first return to Oklahoma City.  On Saturday, February 12, 2017, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Thunder 130 to 114.  KD scored 34 points while Westbrook scored 47 points.

Durant hired extra security personnel for his return to OKC.  Durant was booed by fans throughout the entire game.  Here’s a picture of the cupcake shirt that was worn by OKC fans.

During the second quarter, Westbrook pushed Durant as KD tried to set a screen.  Kevin wasn’t bothered.  He seems to play better under pressure.  Here’s one of the cupcake memes being shared by OKC fans.  They may have lost the game, but they’re winning the war of words:

Westbrook will be over Durant’s decision to leave OKC in a few months.  The NBA is a business and Westbrook is immature for taking Durant’s decision personal.
