Her mother, Shanara Mobley, was devastated after Kamiyah was taken away from her, hours after she was born. The woman that stole Kamiyah, posed as a healthcare worker. The incident occurred on July 10, 1998.
How do you make up for 18 years? Eight hours after Shanara gave birth to Kamiyah, she was gone. DNA tests revealed that Kamiyah is the baby who was abducted from the hospital. Authorities arrested a 51-year-old named Gloria Williams in connection to the crime. We’re guessing Gloria was unable to have a baby of her own, leading her to steal Kamiyah.

Williams befriended Shanara, making her believe that she was a nurse at the hospital. Williams convinced the hospital’s staff that she was a member of Shanara’s family. Kamiyah’s father, Craig Aiken, was locked up at the time of the incident. He was in jail for lewd assault because Shanara was only 15-years-old when she conceived her baby while Craig was 19. Shanara wasn’t old enough to legally consent to sex so Aiken was arrested.
