Charmaine attended Howard University where she studied Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
In Black Ink Crew Chicago season 2, episode 4, “A New Kat-itude” we see Charmaine experience the consequences of quitting her corporate job. She starts the episode in a good mood, welcoming Van back to the shop in a sexy outfit. She’s also happy to see Twista who is planning to get a tattoo from Phor.
After the show’s last episode, fans began calling Charmaine the Donna of Black Ink Crew Chicago. Both ladies had to prove themselves before being accepted on the series. Charmaine Johnise was born on February 21, 1990 in Louisiana. She attended Slidell High School located in Slidell, Louisiana.

After high school, Johnise headed to Washington, D.C. where she attended Howard University. Many are unaware that Howard is a private HBCU. One thing Ryan loves about Johnise is her loyalty. Ryan has seen it all and knows exactly how to treat the loyal people in his life. When Charmaine shows up for work crying Ryan wants to know why she is upset.
Johnise explains that she’s experiencing financial difficulties and her car was repossessed. Ryan calms her down and lets her know that he would pay to get her car back.
