Lauren Michelle is the opera singer that appears on Empire‘s fourth episode of its third season, “Cupid Kills.” The talented singer has known Empire star, Jussie Smollett for years. Jussie went to the show’s co-creator, Lee Daniels and convinced him to give Lauren the opportunity to appear on he series.
The talented singer is originally from Los Angeles, California and graduate of UCLA and The Juilliard School. She recently performed with The Chicago Symphony Orchestra and she won First Place in the 2015 Lotte Lenya Competition. She also won First Place in the Marcello Giordani International Vocal Competition.

In “Cupid Kills” Angelo (Taye Diggs) asks Cookie on a date to see opera singer, Gia Copeland, Lauren’s character on the series. Angelo doesn’t make a simple request, instead he sends kids with instruments to Empire Entertainment. Cookie and her assistant, Porsha (Ta’Rhonda Jones) were surprised by the children who sang her a beautiful song.
Cookie agrees to accompany Angelo. When Cookie arrives, Angelo reveals that it’s a charity event and Cookie tries to go back home to change her clothes but Angelo doesn’t let her. Cookie’s wearing a sexy red dress. Angelo introduces her to some of his boogie friends and then they make their way to their seats where they’re very impressed by Lauren Michelle’s beautiful voice.
