Kirk Korver died on Tuesday. The cause of death was kidney and liver failure. Kirk was only 27-years-old.

Kirk Korver is Kyle Korver’s youngest brother. The Cleveland Cavaliers announced that Kyle has been excused from the team to mourn Kirk’s death. Sports Illustrated reports that Kyle left the team to be with his brother last week. He missed Monday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Cavaliers play the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night but Kyle will be with his family. The incident reminds me of Isaiah Thomas’ sister dying during the 2017 NBA Playoffs.
The incident reminds us that professional athletes are normal people who experience tragedy. Fans and the media can be brutal when critiquing athletes. We have to remember that NBA stars like Kyle Korver and Isaiah Thomas experience tragedies that could lead them to play bad.
Kirk Korver Played Basketball At The University Of Missouri-Kansas City
Kirk Korver attended Pella High School where he played basketball. Kyle graduated from Pella in 1993. After graduating from Pella, Kirk attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Kirk has a great college basketball career. In 3 seasons he scored nearly 600 points.
