Mena Massoud aka Tarek Kassar on Jack Ryan just landed the lead role on Aladdin and everyone has something to say about it. Scroll down to see Twitter’s reaction to the announcement. The Jack Ryan TV series will air on Amazon later this year. The series will star John Krasinski and is based on Tom Clancy’s amazing CIA character.
I’m looking forward to Guy Ritchie’s live-action Aladdin. The English filmmaker is best known for his work on Sherlock Holmes and King Arthur. Disney’s live-action films have all been incredible. My favorites were The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella.

The tweet below explains that Mena Massoud is Arab. The person isn’t happy about Naomi Scott playing Jasmine in the film. I’m surprised no one has called out Will Smith for landing the role as Genie considering the fact he’s black, not blue!?
at least they casted mena massoud who is arab but they couldn’t finish the job and cast an arab jasmine pic.twitter.com/BJdYdctI8R— ️️️ (@michelIesjones) July 15, 2017
The tweet below further proves the racial tension surrounding the cast of the film. Do you think people will be able to see beyond race when watching the film? I’m sure Will Smith will have a lot to say about the negative reaction to the movie’s casting decisions.
Mena Massoud’s first IMDB credit is literally as “Al Qaeda #2” so seeing him as the new Aladdin feels like some kind of progress at least.— Zack Stentz (@MuseZack) July 15, 2017
The following tweet explains how cute Mena is and there’s no denying that!
Y’all Aladdin is Egyptian and he’s cute as hell @MenaMassoud 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽 pic.twitter.com/Cx7R7v0L5m— farida abdelaal (@Farida_Mohd98) July 15, 2017
