What is the Altitude Filter on Snapchat? Why isn’t it working on Android device? The company added the altitude filter earlier this year. It provides users with real time data based on their actions. The filter measures your altitude (height from sea level). The overlay, seen in the image below, changes based on a user’s location.
Snapchat allows you to add a maximum of three filters to each image. Snapchat’s filters are one of the few features that continues to set the app apart from Instagram. Kevin Systrom, Instagram’s CEO recently admitted that Instagram copied Snapchat’s Stories.

Many fans of the height filter have used it while aboard airplanes. The tweet below shows that the user’s altitude was 13599.91 ft!

You can change the display from feet to meters or an analog display by tapping the center of the screen.

I own an Android device and I was recently experiencing problems with my altitude filter.
My altitude filter isn’t working and you better believe I’m TIGHT— Quenton Cassidy (@DrDannyDrizzle) November 4, 2016
If your filter isn’t working try updating your app to the latest version. After updating Snapchat my altitude filter worked flawlessly. If your filters don’t work after you update the app, try deleting the app and turning off your device. Turn your device back on and then reinstall Snapchat.
Let your dreams fly high with Snapchat’s new altitude filter! Remember, your attitude is your altitude. It determines how high you fly.
