Angel Brinks’ son’s father committed suicide when she was nine months pregnant. Sadly, her son, Azari, never met his dad. At the Basketball Wives LA reunion we saw Angel Brinks announce that she most likely won’t be returning to the show next season. The show is filled with petty drama and Brinks can’t handle it.
Azari, Angel’s son, told one of his friends that he didn’t have a father. In one of the saddest moments of the season, Brinks explains to her son that he did have a father but he decided to take his own life. Suicide can be very difficult for kids to understand and Azari finds it difficult to handle his emotions.

Angel explains to Azari that Tyreke Evans is his father figure. Tyreke is Angel’s former boyfriend and her baby daddy. She has a daughter, Amani, with the NBA star. Angel is one of the hardest workers on the reality show and this explains why. Many people bury themselves in their work so they don’t have time to think about a tragedy they’ve experienced.
After losing her son’s father to suicide, Brinks was a single mother who had to work very hard to survive. Her fashion line is now successful and she’s not showing any signs of slowing down!
