Is J Bo Married?
Yes, J-Bo is married. On April 22, 2023, he shared the following post on Instagram, wishing his wife a Happy Birthday!
Early Life
Chad Everett “J-Bo” Brown, was born on August 6, 1972, in St. Louis, Missouri. He grew up in De Soto, which is about 40 miles south of St. Louis, but after getting kicked out of elementary school, he moved to the North Side, with his father.
As a child, he loved playing football, basketball, baseball, and he ran track. Sports helped him stay out of trouble.
The video below shows that Unk was a talented football player at McCluer North High School, located in Florissant, Missouri:
At McCluer North, Chad played running back, and if he wouldn’t have gotten into trouble his senior year, he could have probably got a college scholarship.
He received letters from multiple major universities and even went to the Junior Olympics for track.
Trap or Die
J-Bo started selling drugs in high school, because he was tired of being poor. He tried working at Domino’s Pizza, but he hated it. They had him delivering coupons, door to door.
Unk had a friend that sold drugs, so he went to his house, and asked him for a bag to sell. His friend gave him one, expecting to be paid back after Unk made the sale, but that didn’t happen. Instead, J-Bo sold the bag, spent the money, and then avoided his friend.
When Unk’s friend finally caught up with him, he warned him to never do that again. If someone is willing to front you, and you can’t pay them back, be a man and talk to them. You’ll most likely be able to work out a deal. The last thing you do is disappear. J-Bo apologized, and his friend gave him more, and taught him everything he needed to know about the dope game.
Unk is a fast learner, and he had a good teacher. A few weeks later, he was making money fast, and quickly becoming a major drug dealer.
Big Meech
Unk had a friend in St. Louis, who did business with Big Meech in Atlanta. During one trip to the A, Unk was with his friend, and they went to a house Meech had in Decatur. One of Meech’s friends played Unk in a game of Madden, and Unk lost $800, but at least he got to meet Meech for the first time.
Unk eventually moved to Alpharetta but would make regular trips back to St. Louis. Meech was living in Buckhead at the time, and him and members of the BMF were having issues with the cops, so they wanted to find a new spot. When J-Bo found out, he let Meech and his crew move into his apartment in Alpharetta. He would even let them stay when he would leave to handle business in St. Louis.
Eventually, Meech and Unk established a tight bond, and Unk started selling drugs with BMF. Meech was so impressed with him, that he appointed him second-in-command, and nicknamed him “Junior Boss” aka “J-Bo.”
Unk was often seen on Meech’s side and he watched the organization like a hawk, noticing a few hundreds missing out of a stack of thousands.
One night, Unk, Meech and the BMF were at a club, and some guys were violating their space in the VIP section. A fight broke out, and J knocked someone out, gaining more of Meech’s respect.
Southwest Tee controlled BMF’s business in Los Angeles and Detroit, while Meech and J managed operations in Atlanta. Meech and J-Bo’s crew was a melting pot, with members from numerous states, including Alabama, California, Georgia, Missouri and New York. Most of Southwest Tee’s crew was from Detroit.
J-Bo explains that BMF was successful because they moved in a militant way, with members taking orders directly from him and Meech.
The Fall, Don’t Get Caught
In October of 2005, the DEA coordinated a nationwide take down of the BMF, seizing more than 630 kilograms of cocaine, $40 million in cash and assets, and arresting nearly 50 members and associates. Meech and Terry were both sentenced to 30 years.
J-Bo didn’t get locked up in the initial sweep, instead, he was arrested in the second waive, about a year later. He pleaded guilty in the summer of 2007, refusing to cooperate with law enforcement. He was sentenced to 15 years.
In 2017, J-Bo was released from prison and transferred to a halfway house. In 2018, he was released, after spending 10 years and 8 months in prison.

Young Jeezy gave Chad his flowers in 2015, with the release of the song “J BO” which was on his album Church in These Streets.
Jeezy also gave J-Bo a shot out of his “Death Before Dishonor” freestyle on Rick Ross’ “B.M.F.” beat.
