Sarah Durkin is DJ Durkin’s wife. She was born Sarah Brumback on March 24, 1978. She grew up in Cincinnati and attended Bowling Green where she met Daniel “DJ” Durkin.
DJ was an outside linebacker and defensive end at Bowling Green. Him and Sarah got married on June 13, 2002. They have a son named Luke and a daughter named Abigail.
DJ’s coaching has made it difficult for his family to settle down. In a 2016 interview with The Washington Post, Sarah explained that they lived in three different states in less than a year.
The Durkins thought they would finally be able to settle down in Maryland. In 2015, DJ signed a five-year $12.5 million contract to coach the Terps. Last year, they bought a $2.2 million house in Chevy Chase.
Deadspin reports that current and former University of Maryland football players claim that they suffered horrific physical punishment under DJ Durkin. The university has placed Durkin on administrative leave.
Jordan McNair
University of Maryland offensive lineman Jordan McNair died in June after suffering a heatstroke. He was 19-years-old. McNair initially suffered a seizure and was then airlifted to a hospital in Baltimore.
