“If one of these American actors who have benefited from the greatness of this country, who have made money from our free enterprise system, want to go fawn all over a criminal and a drug trafficker in their interviews, they have a Constitutional right to do it,” Rubio declared, “I find it grotesque.”
Rolling Stone published the interview Penn conducted with Guzman shortly after El Chapo was arrested. The actor met with Guzman to interview him regarding his plans to make a biographical film.
Who can forget the 87th Academy Awards when Penn presented the award for Best Picture to Mexican Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. “Who gave this son of a bitch his green card?” Penn asked. Yet another Sean Penn blunder simply swept under the rug.
