Shame on CBS. In episode 7 of Survivor: Game Changers, Zeke Smith was outed as a transgender. Jeff Varner was fired from his job after outing Zeke. Varner is a 50-year-old real estate agent who was fired from his job at Allen Tate Realtors. While Varner was wrong, CBS shouldn’t have aired the scene.
Is Zeke on Survivor transgender? Yes. Zeke is a transgender and he is gay. The Brooklyn, New York native is a member of the Millennials tribe. In Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X season 33 episode 10, “Million Dollar Gamble” Zeke is almost sent home but Jessica draws the block rock and she’s sent home. We’re glad he didn’t get sent home!
Zeke Smith is very smart. In high school, he was named one of the top debaters in the nation. He grew up in central Oklahoma and attended Harvard University. Despite focusing on biblical interpretation at Harvard, Smith landed a job in finance after he graduated. Although he’s 28, he explains that he’s never considered himself a Millennial.

Zeke says that he focuses on small milestones when competing on the reality series. He describes his Millennial tribe as the most talented group to ever compete on the series.
We saw a great bonding moment between Zeke and Bret in episode 10. In the video below Bret explains that he told Zeke that he was gay because he needs allies. He thinks that the move will make Zeke feel more comfortable speaking to him. It could be a mistake but Bret doesn’t have anything to lose.
