At the end of episode 10 of Basketball Wives LA season 5 we’re introduced to Tami Roman’s friend, January Gessert and Lindsay. The three ladies are having lunch with Tami and Shaunie when January reveals that she has slept with Angel Brinks’ baby daddy, Tyreke Evans. Just when we thought that Angel had enough drama to deal with, here comes more.
It’s interesting to see white girls on the show but we’re already loving it. Basketball Wives LA’s creator, Shaunie O’Neal recently explained that there’s a racial double standard in reality television. Adding more diversity to the show’s cast could increase its viewership yet it wouldn’t solve the problem Shaunie described.

January makes it clear that there is no shame in her game. When asked about the type of men she’s attracted to Gessert explains that she likes men with a ball in their hand, meaning professional athletes. Fans of the show blasted her on Twitter for being way too honest. While there’s a way to be discrete when you’re a groupie, you have to appreciate her high level of self-awareness.
