Jill Scott’s ex-husband, Mike Dobson, countersued the singer after she filed for divorce and now he’s asking for $500,000 for pain and suffering.  Like Mary J. Blige’s ex-husband, Kendu Isaacs, Dobson is greedy and he’s asking for the most.  Isaacs recently claimed that the stress from the divorce sent him to the hospital.  I won’t be surprised to hear a similar argument from Dobson.

Jill Scott was born on April 4, 1972 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  In the 8th grade, Scott fell in love with Nikki Giovanni’s poetry.  Some of Giovanni’s most popular poems include “Knoxville, Tennessee” and “Nikki-Rosa.” Scott also fell in love with music.  She attended Temple University and planned to become a teacher but poetry opened up unbelievable opportunities.

1999-2017

Scott was performing as a poet when she was discovered by Questlove of The Roots.  She wrote the 1999 track “You Got Me” which earned The Roots a Grammy.  A year later, Scott released her debut album Who Is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol 1.  The album went platinum and Jill has been winning ever since.

In 2007, Scott made her acting debut in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married? The amazing film allowed Scott to show off her skills alongside some of the most talented actors in the industry including Janet Jackson, Malik Yona and Tasha Smith.

Scott should be focusing on her career but she has to handle Dobson’s ridiculous requests.  Along with $500,000 for pain and suffering, Dobson wants half their marital assets.  He signed a prenup but claims that he was coerced.  Pray for Jill Scott. 🙏🏿
