Jussie Smollett has not been fired from Empire. The tweet below shows that Fox is still supporting him:
According to MTO, Smollett has been fired from the show. The site reports that the rising star’s reps were greedy, leading him to be let go. The article further explains that Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson are the actors set to get paid as a result of the show’s success.
The rest of the cast will not receive a significant raise so supposedly Jamal Lyon will die on the show. Our girl Ask Kissy also reports that he’s leaving the show.

There’s no way that Jamal Lyon will die on the show. Inquisitr reports that Jamal isn’t going anywhere despite MTO’s article.
After the show’s 17th episode the talented actor used Twitter to say goodbye to the show. Wet Paint explains that his tweet was not convincing. Pay attention to his choice of words:
