The Matrix brothers are both transgender. Lilly and Lana Wachowski both came out as transgender. The talented brothers are now sisters. The talented directors are best known for The Matrix and V for Vendetta. Lilly was born Andrew “Andy” Wachowski while Lana was born Laurence Wachowski. The news has many arguing that gender identity is genetic.
In March 2016, Lilly came out as a transgender woman. She was forced to come out after being threatened by multiple media outlets. On the contrary, Lana completed her transition in 2008.

Lilly was ambushed by a Daily Mail reporter at her home. She decided not to give the reporter the story, instead she released a statement through the Windy City News, a LGBTQ publication.
Lilly insulted the Daily Mail‘s history with transgender news. She called out the tabloid newspaper for outing Lucy Meadows, a teacher from the United Kingdom.
