Papoose – Without Hat, Why Is He Always Wearing It?

Why is Papoose always wearing a hat? The blurry image below is one of the only times the rapper, whose real name is Shamele Mackie, has been seen without his hat.  In the video at the end of this post, Papoose gets a haircut with his hat on.  The Love and Hip Hop star must own over a million fitted caps.

LL Cool J is another rapper from New York who is typically seen wearing hats.  In 2009 LL landed a role on the CBS series, NCIS leading him to lose the headwear.  It was most likely easy to convince LL to take off his hat.  The rapper makes over $100,000 per episode of NCIS.

Papoose would most likely turn down an opportunity to appear on a television series if he couldn’t wear his hat.  The image below shows the rapper and Remy Ma at their 2016 wedding.  Yes, Pap wore kept his hat on throughout the entire ceremony.
