In season 2 episode 1 of Growing Up Hip Hop, “Blinged Up, Throne Down”, Romeo Miller is initially worried about Angela Simmons but then his dad, Master P, reveals some shocking news. Master P, whose real name is Percy Miller, explains to Romeo that his mother, Sonya C., is suing both Master P and Romeo.
Master P has a stack of papers on his desk and he reveals that they can lose the company if Romeo’s mother wins the case. Winning is exactly what she’s been doing. Romeo is probably glad that Angela is engaged because his parent’s situation will motivate a person to avoid marriage.

Miller married Sonya in 1989. The former couple’s marriage lasted for 24 years and they have five kids together. In 2014, judge recently ordered Miller to pay $30,000 per month in alimony and child support. It’s cheaper to keep her! Percy also had to pay $200,000 to take care of Sonya’s legal fees.
In 2015 the Miller family starred in a reality show titled Master P’s Family Empire. Earlier this year, Miller had to give Sonya the $825,000 he made from the show because of past due child support payments and alimony. Sonya has accused the hip hop legend of hiding assets and using their kids as pawns.
