Ronda Sales on Being Mary Jane is played by Valarie Pettiford. She was born on July 8, 1960 and is currently 56-years-old. Pettiford grew up in Queens, New York and graduated from the High School of Performing Arts. Like Gabrielle Union, Valarie is married to a professional athlete. From 2001 to 2006, Union was married to former NFL player, Chris Howard.
Gabrielle married NBA player, Dwyane Wade in 2014. Pettiford is married to former MLB player, Tony Rader. He is also an actor and Pettiford’s manager. Unlike Mary Jane and Ronda, Gabrielle and Valarie chose great husbands. In episode 2 of Being Mary Jane‘s fourth season, “Getting Naked” we find out that Ronda’s husband, Ellison, is cheating on her and stealing money from her foundation.

We’re not certain if Ronda knew about her husband’s actions. Ronda is very smart and could be in an open relationship with Ellison. When Mary Jane sees Ellison with his blonde girlfriend, Ellison doesn’t seem to be ashamed of his relationship. If Ellison were cheating, he would most likely be more secretive.

Ronda plays no games. She doesn’t waste time hiring Justin after Mary Jane crosses her. Ronda will most likely attempt to convince Mary Jane that she hired Justin to inspire her. Justin did Mary Jane wrong and she continues to hold a grudge against him.
