Rapper Yung Mazi was shot and killed on Sunday, August 6, 2017. The incident occurred in Atlanta. Mazi was leaving a pizza restaurant in Kirkwood. Violence in Atlanta continues to get worse. The city is one of the most dangerous places in the world. This was the second time Yung Mazi got shot in the last year.
Last year, the rapper, whose real name is Jibril Latin Abdurahman was shot at a Waffle House. This is gang violence that law enforcement has been unable to regulate. I’m hoping some of Atlanta’s hip-hop leaders, like T.I. and Gucci Mane, can get together to help the city.
Yung Mazi Shot In Head 2017
Yung Mazi died at the scene of the crime. The suspect was wearing a white shirt and he had dreadlocks. Mazi was obviously the target of a planned attack considering the fact that he has been shot before. Yung Mazi’s popularity was on the rise but he needed to move away from Atlanta.Yung Mazi had beef in the city that he was unable to overcome. Gone but never forgotten. His music will live on forever, reminding us how important it is to use our talents to create. Stop consuming!
RIP

The judges that rapper Kevin Gates have been receiving have not been playing at all! Kevin Gates just completed his first jail sentence for the incident at a concert and now he has just received a sentence for 30 months, or 2 and a half years.
Kevin Gates 30 Months In Prison
In 2016 it was the video seen around the world when the rapper was seen kicking a female fan in the chest at his Florida concert. Gates did apologize and even explained in a song that the fan was trying to grab his private area. The explanation wasn’t enough so he was sentenced to six months in jail. Literally the day that the “Islah” rapper was released, he was re-arrested for a felony gun charge dating back to a few years ago.
Kevin Gates 30 Months In Prison
A warrant for the Baton Rouge native was sent out because Kevin failed to appear in court in 2013. So when Gates was released over a month ago it was the perfect time to bring him to Illinois in order to face the pending charges. Surprisingly, the 30 month sentence isn’t so bad at all considering that the sentence carries a 10 month maximum sentence. Neither Kevin’s reps or wife Dreka Gates have made a statement but hopefully Kevin comes out on the other side the way Gucci Mane did — a changed man who is back and better than ever.
Update
A judge ordered Kevin Gates held without bail during a recent court appearance. He’ll be transferred to Cook County, Illinois to face his weapon charges. He’ll be transferred within the next 30 days and there’s currently no release date available.
Gucci Mane showed his support for Kevin in the following tweet:
If there’s one person who understands what Kevin’s going through it’s Gucci Mane. French Montana also showed Kevin some love:
One time for my Muslim brother. Me and chinx (rest in peace🙏) was the first dudes to do a feat With this brother. before People even knew who he was 2011 I hate watching the system and all the hate killing us and our brother and killing the people that love us #freegates #freemax #foreverchinx #freekodac #freepenthouse

It seems as though Kevin Gates just can’t catch a break! After completing jail time on a battery charge for kicking a female fan at a Florida concert, the rapper has to have a hearing about a warrant in Illinois. Apparently, Kevin Gates has a felony weapon charge and didn’t know until it was time to be released and now he is facing extradition. Yikes.
This isn’t an uncommon event. When Kodak Black was in jail last year he found out that he was facing charges in a different state. It brings up the question of why don’t these things come up earlier? Shouldn’t all of an inmates warrants come up once their booked or isn’t there some sort of system in place to prevent this from happening?
Traci Steele Kevin Gates Polk Cook County Jail
Gates delivered the kick seen around the world in 2015 to a female fan at one of his performances in Florida. The kick looked pretty brutal on tape but the rapper says that after multiple attempts to stop the fan from grabbing his private area, he had to do something to stop her. He admits that kicking her in the chest was the wrong thing to do and that he’s sorry for his actions. Honestly, between me and you, it seemed like he was going to walk away scot-free but the judge assigned to his case clearly meant business and sentenced Kevin to 6 months jail time. Now that he’s served the mandatory five months, he has to settle the dust regarding that Illinois weapon charge.
Gates discusses the concert incident in his song “The Truth” which includes lyrics that read:
“Man in the mirror, you way outta order / Go to jail, who gonna look out for your daughter? / All in the news ’bout what happened in Florida / Posted on WorldStar on iPhone recorders / She grabbed my dick over and acted, I’m sorry / Two or three times I had already warned her / Edit that part out, I don’t like to argue.”
