Tony Royster Jr. – Jay-Z Drummer

Tony Royster Jr. made an appearance on episode 8 of The Rap Game‘s fourth season, “Swag Symphony.” Jermaine Dupri introduces Royster as Jay-Z’s drummer and the kids are super excited to meet him.  Tony’s Instagram name is @TonyRoysterJr.  The talented musician was born on October 9, 1984 in Nuremberg, Germany.

Jay-Z is not the only popular artist Tony has worked with.  On The Rap Game, Jermaine Dupri revealed that Royster has also worked with Rihanna.  Dupri is doing a great job showing kids that there are numerous music related careers available.  Everyone wants to be Beyonce but Tony Royster Jr. is proof that you can have a successful career as a musician without being as famous as Beyonce.

Tony was previously a member of the R&B boy band Imajin.  The group is best known for their hit song “Shorty (You Keep Playing With My Mind) featuring Keith Murray.
In 2009, Royster played the drums at Jay-Z’s performance at Barack Obama’s inaugural ball.

Tony’s presence is being felt worldwide.  The GoPro video at the end of this article shows that he’s making money moves.  In 2001, he played with Japanese singer Utada Hikaru.
