Beeple’s $69 Million NFT Art Sale
TechCrunch reports that artist Mike Winkelmann aka Beeple sold a piece of digital artwork for $69 million. The piece has no physical presence and is being delivered from Beeple to the buyer, accompanied by a NFT that is encrypted with the artist’s signature.
The sale marks the most expensive digital art sale in history. The work, titled “Everydays – The First 5000 Days” chronicled 13 years of Beeple’s daily sketches. It was the first piece of digital artwork sold by Christie’s auction house.
Jack Dorsey Selling First Tweet For Millions
In the tweet below, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey shares a link to his first tweet ever. CNET reports that Dorsey put the tweet up for sale, as an NFT, and the highest bid is currently $2.5 million.
The tweet is from 2006 and reads “just setting up my twttr.” Dorsey explained that he’ll be converting his earnings from the sale to Bitcoin and donating them to charity.
Mark Cuban Selling Quote As NFT
Business Insider reports that Mark Cuban is selling a motivational quote, as a NFT, for $1,700 worth of cryptocurrency. The quote reads “Nobody ever changed the world bu doing what everyone else was doing.”
Cuban recently revealed that if he were starting a business toady, he would center it around blockchain and NFTs.
