Turk from the Hot Boys appeared on Iyanla Fix My Life.  Him and his wife, Erica, are trying to save their marriage.  The rapper, whose real name is Tab Virgil Jr. hasn’t had an easy life.  Fans of the former Cash Money group are quick to blame Lil Wayne for leaving Turk hanging but Iyanla reveals details about Turk’s troubled past.

In 2004, Turk was involved in a shootout with Memphis police.  He spent nine years in prison and was released in October 2012.

Virgil was born on February 8, 1981.  The rapper is from New Orleans and grew up in the infamous Magnolia Projects.  He dropped out of high school but then his life changed when he met Birdman.  In the video below, Turk explains that he started doing cocaine when he was only 14-years-old.

In the following video, Turk gets very emotional.  Iyanla has him release negative energy into the wall.  Turk’s father died and the rapper is having a hard time dealing with it.  Turk explains that he told his dad he could move in with him but then he changed his mind because his father is an alcoholic.
In the following video, Erica explains that she’s a singer and songwriter.  She put her dreams aside after Turk went to jail.  Erica also reveals that she’s a breast cancer survivor.
