Tyrese Gibson was born on December 30, 1978 in Watts, Los Angeles, California.  His father wasn’t in his life so him and his three older siblings were raised by his mother.  Growing up, Tyrese loved singing and would compete in local talent shows.

Tyrese’s big break came in 1994 when he auditioned for a Coca Cola commercial.  He landed the gig, leading to numerous opportunities.  He started modeling and then earned a record deal with RCA.  His debut album, Tyrese was released in 1998 when he was 19-years-old.

The information above makes it difficult to believe that Tyrese is broke.  Is he pulling a Kanye West? The singer released his Grammy-nominated album in 1998 and it sold more than a million copies.  He has been active since then and now he claims that he’s broke.

In 2001, we fell in love with Tyrese’s character Joseph “Jody” Summers on Baby Boy.  Taraji P. Henson also appeared in the film.  Tyrese has appeared in more than 20 movies and he has released 7 studio albums.  He’s one of the hardest working men in Hollywood.
