Oprah explains that the Empire TV show has changed the face of diversity behind-the-lens. The most recent evidence of this change is ABC’s new show Uncle Buck.

The show is based on the hit movie of the same name. We’d like to thank ABC for yet another masterpiece. The network recently introduced Black-ish and now Uncle Buck. We’d like to applaud their focus on diversity and we hope they keep up the great work.
Deadline reports that the show was ABC’s best launch among adults 18-49 since 2009. In the following video Mike Epps discusses being an Uncle Buck in real-life:
Cast
The show stars Mike Epps, Nia Long, James Lesure, Iman Benson, Sayeed Shahidi and Aalyrah Caldwell. ABC did a great job selecting the cast.
In the show’s first episode, Uncle Buck’s brother ask him to come over and babysit his kids. Will (Uncle Buck’s brother) and Alexis don’t get much time to themselves thanks to their three kids so Buck is the perfect solution.
Uncle Buck is played by Mike Epps, Will, is played by James Lesure and Alexis is played by Nia Long. The oldest of the three children, is played by Iman Benson. The second oldest, Miles, is played by Sayeed Shahidi. The youngest child, Maizy, is played by Aalyrah Caldwell.
