On the FX series Atlanta, Zazie Beetz plays Vanessa aka “Van.” The show’s ninth episode of its first season, “Juneteenth” starts with Van picking up Earn at his girlfriend’s house. Earn isn’t taking his new lady too seriously. “Coming back tonight?” Earn’s new lady asks, “Uh…no” Earn responds. If him and Van were still together she would have never allowed him to get away with that one.
Van is Earn’s (Donald Glover) baby mother and best friend on Atlanta. On “Juneteenth” the on-again, off-again couple attend an event at Monique’s house. The event is being held to celebrate the emancipation of slaves from the Confederate in 1865 aka Freedom Day.

Earn plays his role, convincing Monique that him and Van are married. Vanessa needs a job so she’s trying to impress Monique and her guests. Monique ends up pissing Earn off and he tells her about herself. Earn losing his temper turns Vanessa on and she tells him to pull over while driving home. On the way to the event they were arguing over the window but on their way home they pull over on the side of the road and hook up!

Zazie Beetz is a German born actress who grew up in New York. She attended LaGuardia High School, known for developing numerous talented actors. Some of the school’s most successful alumni include Jennifer Aniston, Omar Epps and Al Pacino.
Zazie recently appeared in the Netflix series, Easy. She played Noelle in the comedy-drama which is set in Chicago.
