Privacy is a major issue in the world of social media and the person could have seen content in your story that you most likely wouldn’t want others to see. You can hide your story in the Story Settings section of the app.
Instagram users can be very brutally honest so “hide your story” could also mean that someone dislikes your content and they no longer want access to it. This generally occurs when a user shares explicit content in their story.
