SPOILER ALERT: This article contains spoilers for the Starz series BMF. Episode 9 of season, “High Treason” was the best episode of the season, but sadly, Ty Washington died.
Ty Washington is played by actor, Mike Merrill and he is not based on a real person. A disclaimer is shown before every episode, explaining that the series is loosely based on truth. Some of the names, characters, events, businesses and the storyline in general, has been fictionalized for dramatic purposes.
While the actual incident didn’t occur, BMF was associated with numerous shootings throughout their journey of becoming one of the most successful drug organizations of all-time. In a 2003 shooting outside of Club Chaos in Atlanta, Big Meech was shot in his buttocks. Meech was arrested and charged with two counts of murder. P. Diddy’s former bodyguard, Anthony “Wolf” Jones was killed in the altercation.
Merrill discussed his role as Ty Washington in the Starz series BMF with Vibe, explaining that season 2 of BMF will be lit because the backstory really unfolds. The “High Treason” episode was definitely lit!
The “High Treason” episode of BMF takes place in Atlanta during the Freaknik!
Ice Cream Convos explains that Yung Miami’s appearance broke the Internet! The City Girls rapper guest starred as Deanna Washington in the episode, Ty’s wife.
Not everyone was happy about Caresha’s appearance:
Bossip published an article with hilarious reactions to Yung Miami’s appearance. Big Meech convinces Deanna to let Ty go to the club with him, and then in a dramatic scene, Meech has to break the news that Ty was murdered.
In a previous episode of the series, Ty brought Meech to his stash house in Atlanta so Meech could pick up some weight. In this episode, Ty reveals that he’s a family man, and Meech, Southwest Tee and B-Mickie go over his house and meets his wife and kids. The one night Ty decides to go out, he gets murdered.
While Ty’s death was sad, it’s convenient for the Flenory brothers, who are looking to take over the drug trade in Atlanta. Along with Ty’s death and Boom getting arrested in Detroit, Meech and Terry have an opportunity corner the market.
You probably remember Merrill from BET’s The Bobby Brown Story where he played Manny. The actor discusses the role in the interview below:
