Why Is Michael Strahan Going To GMA?

Taraji P. Henson’s former boo, Michael Strahan, is leaving Live! With Kelly and Michael.  The former NFL star is joining Good Morning America.  

Daily Mail reports that Andy Cohen believes Strahan is making a big mistake by leaving Live! considering the fact he has a major role on the show.  Cohen explained that Strahan’s name is in the title of Live! and he had the opportunity to spend his entire career there.

According to Access Hollywood, Strahan was not thrilled to work with Live’s executive producer Michael Gelman.  There were rumors that Kelly Ripa was the reason he was leaving the show yet those rumors were false.

Entertainment Tonight reports that Kelly Ripa will return to the show on Tuesday.  Ripa was upset that she was not warned about Mike’s departure.  Ripa sent an email explaining her plans to return after she refused to appear alongside Mike.  She explained that she needed time to process the transition.

Another reason the former New York Giant decided to leave is the raise he’ll receive by joining GMA.  He’ll get $20 million per year.  On Live! he was making about $10 million per year.  Kelly Ripa currently makes $20 million per year so he’ll be bumped up to her tax bracket…The best revenge is your paper!
