Young MA will not be on Love and Hip Hop this season. Many fans are mixing her up with Felicia “Snoop” Pearson from The Wire. Snoop is from Baltimore, Maryland but she’ll be on Love and Hip Hop this season. Similar to Young MA, the 36-year-old actress is also a rapper. Felicia was born on May 18, 1980 to two drug addicted parents.
Pearson’s parents were not only addicted to drugs they were both incarcerated. Young MA’s father spent the first decade of her life in prison yet her mother was always around. The same was not true for Snoop. Felicia grew up in a Baltimore foster home. She started selling drugs at a very young age and when she was 14-years-old she was convicted for killing a girl who attacked her with a baseball bat.

Felicia was tried as an adult and sentenced to two eight-year terms. She was released after serving six and a half years. Similar to Young MA, a tragedy turned Pearson’s life around. Young MA decided to pursue a career as a rapper after her brother was murdered.
When Felicia was 18, Arnold Loney, a drug dealer that looked out for her, was shot and killed. In both situations, gang violence was the cause of death. We’re glad they used the tragedies as motivation to change their lives.
