    If you watched tonight’s episode of Empire you’re well aware that Jamal Lyon’s life is on the line.  Who would have guessed that he would be the Lyon to go down.

    Fox Detroit reports that DMK performed on the tonight’s episode.
    The show’s second season started off slow but everything that made us fall in love with Fox’s hip-hop series is back! From the lying and cheating to the stealing that the Lyon family does best.
    There are so many questions that we have to discuss! Will Anika Calhoun commit suicide?  The teaser for the next episode showed her on a balcony and it looks like she was about to jump off!?
    We hope someone grabs her before she does! We can’t have another baby die on the show.
    Another moment that was amazing from the next show’s teaser features Rhonda! She punches Anika because she knows that Anika pushed her.  Anika is left bloody and we can’t wait to see the excuse she provides.  Do you think Anika decides to kill herself because Rhonda finds out that she pushed her?
    Will Lucious’ mother let the world know that he’s a liar!?

    Leuh and Justin from Catfish met on Instagram.  MTV reports that the couple was considering marriage.

    This would make them the first couple on the show to walk down the aisle.  Lauren and Derek became engaged before they decided they broke up.
    Catfish is a MTV reality show.  The series is about the truths and lies of online dating.  Check out the following video where Nev and Max help her track down her boyfriend:
    Leuh contacted the show because she wanted to meet the perfect guy.  She chose her college based on Justin’s location.  the 19-year-old wanted to be closer to him.

    The typical couple on the show is not able to overcome the lies that were told.  Lying on social media is the norm.  Social media is seen as a fantasy environment where lying is accepted on a regular basis.

  • New Instagram Update, Logo

    Instagram’s new update includes a white and black interior along with a pink, purple and orange logo.  The social media platform has certainly been paying attention to some of the most liked images posted by users.


    Since the app was created one of the most liked collection of images has been sunsets.  Check out the poll below to see how much white has been captured in some of the most liked Instagram images.

    From Kim Kardashian’s white wedding dress to Taylor Swift’s cute white kitty.  According to the company’s official blog the app’s new icon represents a simpler camera.

    The company also updated the icons for Boomerang, Hyperlapse and Layout.  We haven’t notice any bleaching in those three apps.  As usual the reactions have been mixed.  While some people love the changes others hate them.  If Snapchat uses the same strategy, say bye to the ghost and hi to the dog:

    Guardian reports that the app’s new sunset-colored logo features orange, yellow, pink and purple.  There is a white outline of a camera on the icon.  The apps new logo pays homage to its simpler design but is that what users want?

    Snapchat’s design is far from simple yet we love it! Considering how much Empire has benefitted from Instagram, we can’t wait to see if how these changes will impact the show’s strategy.

    I logged into my Instagram account this morning expecting to see what I always do.  I did.  Then I installed the company’s new update and noticed that the app bleached its look.  While many have focused on the app’s new colorful logo, my attention has been on how white my Instagram has become:

    The company’s new look reminds us of a Kendall Jenner post from a white back:

    Of course the song features Yo Gotti, who we know loves the app’s DM feature.  The company has been paying attention to some of the trends on its very own platform.  Check out the poll below which includes some of the platform’s most liked images.  From Beyonce and Blue dressed in white to the white flowers Taylor Swift receives from Kanye, the colors always seems to work on IG.

    Instagram has always had that navy top border and the black bottom border.  The bold colors did a wonderful job of containing all the beautiful scenes, hilarious memes and entertaining videos.

    Tech Crunch reports that the social media platform went live today with a colorful icon yet a white and black interior.  White has always been associated with positivity but there are some users who hate the new design.

    Bruno Tonioli is a judge on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars.  Tonioli is gay and his partner is Jason Schanne.  Tonioli and Schanne had a commitment ceremony after the 14th season of the show.

    Numerous stars attended the commitment ceremony, including Perez Hilton, Johnny Weir and Evan Lysacek.  Tonioli explains that he grew up in a Catholic household and he never brought any girls over.  He believes that his parents were aware of his sexual orientation at an early age but they never discusses it.

    We love Tonioli! Remember when Strictly Come Dancing was forced to apologize for Tonioli’s foul mouth.  This came after the 60-year-old described Jay McGuiness’s performance as “bull’s b****s”.

    Back in 2005, Tonioli dated a man named Paul.  The two enjoyed a relationship that lasted a few decades but they eventually parted ways.  Tonioli explains that he doesn’t sleep in the same bed as his partners because he likes having his own space.  Mirror reports that he was only gay in his own village and humor helped him beat his bullies.

    Hugh Bonneville is the actor who slept with Helen Wood.  Daily Mail reports that he was recently spotted alongside his wife, Lulu, at the TV BAFTA Awards.  It looks like the couple is trying to work things out.

    The incident took place back in 2011.  Bonneville obtained an injunction in an attempt to prevent the story from surfacing.  The actor has played a wide variety of roles throughout his career including radio, stage and screen.

    The Sun reports that he is set to play a hero in a play about press freedom.  The actor paid the prostitute to use a toy on him.  
    The 52 year old played Lord Grantham in Downtown Abbey and recently did a magnificent job in the play An Enemy of the People.  The Guardian explains that he precisely captures the recklessness of Dr. Stockmann in the production of Ibsen’s play.
    Hugh Richard Bonneville Williams was born on November 10, 1963 in Blackheath, South East London, England.  After secondary education he read theology at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.  Bonneville has explained that acting would not have become his day job had it not been for his time at Cambridge.    The award-winning actor then attended the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, in London, where he studied acting.

    On May 4, 1977, Richard Pryor appeared on the Tonight Show with Chevy Chase.  Salon explains that Pryor didn’t like appearing on talk shows because there was always a point in the interview when the host would ask a question like, “Isn’t America wonderful, Richard?”

    The two appeared on the show in order to promote their TV specials which would both air on NBC the following night.  The video below shows Carson acting the fool.  Once Pryor gets on stage, Chevy interrupts him multiple times and leans over into Richard’s frame.
    Lee Daniels Exits Richard Pryor Biopic
    According to Hollywood Reporter, Lee Daniels’ busy schedule is to blame for his departure from the Richard Pryor biopic.  The Weinstein Co. is behind the film and they can no longer wait for Daniels’ schedule to clear up.
    Mike Epps will play Pryor in the film.  Deadline reports that Oprah will play Pryor’s grandmother.  Empire is not the only show that has been keeping Daniels busy.  The award-winning filmmaker is also working on the Fox show Star, which features Queen Latifah.  Fox has given a series order to Star, giving Daniels two shows on the network’s schedule next season.  Weinstein Co. is now searching for a filmmaker to replace Daniels.

    Time reports that the flower reaction was introduced for Mother’s Day.  That’s right, the purple flower enables users to send their mother a digital emoji as a thank you for giving birth to me and putting up with all my nonsense.

    Cookie has a way with words, especially when she believes she’s being taken for granted.  Lucious has heard some of Cookie’s best comebacks and she isn’t scared to slap Jamal every once in a while.  When Hakeem acts out Cookie is known to break out that broom.  Boo Boo Kitty knows better and Andre has nothing but respect for his mom.

    At Joseline’s party, Stevie J suggests that they watch her new video.  Joseline plays the video and everyone loves it.  After she shows the video her old rival Dawn walks out.

    Everyone is surprised to see Ms. Heflin.  Tommie gets very angry when she sees her.  Lil’ Scrappy attempts to calm Tommie down but he fails.  Tommie is drunk and interrupts a conversation between Mimi, Dawn and Joseline.

    She gets in Dawn’s face and asks her, “Do you know me?” Dawn does not recognize Tommie and responds “I have no idea who you are.”  Tommie says that Karen King had a prior beef with Ms. Heflin because Heflin was spreading rumors about King.

    Eventually, security escorts Tommie away.  Lil’ Scrappy gets her a cab and sends her home.  Srapp doesn’t blame Tommie for acting out.  The rapper explains that her behavior was acceptable considering the circumstances.


    According to VH1, Tommie was two seconds away from giving Heflin the business! Wet Paint explains that Joseline called out Ms. Heflin as a scam artist, which makes her return all the more confusing.

    From her hit songs to her beef with Tammy, one of #LHHATL’s newest cast members is stealing the show.  Many people believe that Betty Idol is transgender yet they are mistaken.  Betty Idol’s BFF D. Smith has been transitioning from man to woman for the past few years.

    D. Smith is the Grammy Award-winning producer featured on Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta.  VH1 explains that she is best friends with Betty Idol.  The image below shows him her before the transition:

    Betty Idol is best known for her vocals on the song Thug Cry by Rick Ross featuring Lil’ Wayne.  Smith has also worked with Lil’ Wayne.  She wrote and produced the song Shoot Me Down for Tha Carter III.
    She describes the track as a dark but peaceful song.  Some of the other artists she has worked with include Ciara, Keri Hilson, Lloyd, Andre 3000, Estelle and Monica.
    She recently made headlines as Love & Hip-Hop’s first transgender woman.  In the following video she brings transgender awareness to the forefront:
    She is serious about music and doesn’t care about money.  The award-winning producer says that every project she works on is important to her.  She is building a legacy as oppose to a resume.

    A lot of people loved the person on the left but, this person was put together with bits and pieces of what society wanted. This person was so far gone in satisfying everyone else, that one started to loose touch with one’s true authentic self. That person use to be me! I’ve judged people for being who they were. I was angry and insecure. I dated beautiful girls. When I say beautiful, I mean BEAUTIFUL girls that I cheated on with men because I couldn’t fight my deep feelings for them.
