Vulture reports that Erika Alexander plays LeeAnne, Hollywood’s bipolar wife on Queen Sugar. The actress is best known for her role as Maxine Shaw on the Fox series Living Single. She got her big break as Pam Tucker on The Cosby Show. Ava DuVernay made an excellent choice, adding Alexander to the cast.
On episode 5 of the show’s first season, “By Any Chance” Aunt Violet decides to quit her job at the diner. The new manager makes some changes that she’s not happy with. He is rude and embarrasses her in front of her friends. Aunt Vi reaches out to Hollywood and is under the impression that he’s at work.

Hollywood pretends to be at work but he’s actually at a psychiatric ward picking up his bipolar wife, LeeAnne, played by Erika Alexander. Hollywood finds himself in a difficult situation. He is trying to move on with his life but LeeAnne is a suicide risk so he is forced to be her caretaker.
LeeAnne tried to seduce Hollywood and then becomes violent due to her condition. LeeAnne and Hollywood are still married so she can be included on his insurance plan. We love Hollywood and hope he’s not hiding anymore secrets!
Sierra McClain plays Vanessa aka Nessa on Empire‘s third season. Lucious is desperate to sign Nessa. Lucious, Shine, Nessa and Hakeem have a meeting during the show’s “Sin That Amends” episode. Lucious makes it clear that he’s willing to help Nessa make her dreams come true. Her and Shine are excited about their bright future at Empire Entertainment.
Speaking of Shine, we find out that Vanessa is his sister and he’s very overprotective. He knocks a guy out in the studio after he catches him checking out Nessa’s body. Hakeem is scared straight. This won’t be another “Drip Drop” because Nessa is an untouchable. Lucious should keep Shine around to babysit Hakeem.
Vanessa On Empire
In the season 3 premiere, “Light In Darkness” Jamal Lyon panics when he attempts to perform “Need Freedom” a song he wrote for Freda Gatz. Luckily, Vanessa is able to pick up where Jamal leaves off. She saves Empire‘s Extreme streaming service launch and earned Lucious’ respect.
Zeah (Ezri Walker) is another artist that recently earned Lucious’ respect. Angelo Dubois (Taye Diggs) introduces Zeah to Lucious, explaining how smart he is. Lucious was impressed by Zeah’s rhymes and he’ll most likely try to sign the young emcee. Zeah will have to decide whether he wants to focus on school or music.
Mariah Carey will make her first appearance on Empire on Wednesday, October 5, 2016. In the show’s third episode of season 3, “What Remains Is Bestial” Cookie Lyon reaches out to Mariah’s character, Kitty, to help her son Jamal (Jussie Smollett). After being shot by Freda Gatz, Jamal’s road to recovery has been difficult.
When Jamal tries to perform he has flashbacks and then experiences severe panic attacks. Kitty comes and reminds Jamal not to underestimate his strength or overestimate his weakness.
Similar to Jussie Smollett’s song with Alicia Keys, “Powerful” his song with Mariah is amazing. Check out the lyrics below.
Hakeem and Nessa dropped their new hit, “Remember My Name” on Empire‘s “Sin That Amends” episode. The post includes the track’s audio along with the lyrics. Hakeem will be strictly business when it comes to working with Nessa. We finally find out that Nessa is Shine’s younger sister. Shine knocks someone in the studio out for checking out his little sister’s goodies.
This could be great news for Hakeem considering the fact that he’s a ladies man. Working with Shine will keep Hakeem focused on his music.
Remember My Name Empire Lyrics Hakeem Nessa
“Remember My Name”
Yazz, Sierra McClain
[Verse 1: Yazz]
First they hate you then they love you
First they hate you then they love you
First they hate you then they love you
For sure, no doubt,
They love you when they see you got potential and you roll out
Hustle till it’s all out
Punt the wind it’s cold out
And watch your every move
Yeah they plottin when you ball out
They see you getting money and you eating
They wanna play
Dog eat dog out here bring it kind of bait
Getting cheese all over, I’m kind of great
Just got me a new, new chick, uh, time to scape
I asked if I was the go and she remember me
Got alotta class but we like alotta chemistry
On to the previous, bye, see ya
All said and done, it was a pleasure to meet ya
[Chorus: Sierra McClain]
When it’s all
Said and done
I will be
Number 1
You’ll see
You will remember my name, name, name, name
Don’t count me out
I’m here to stay
Before you know
I’ll change the game
You’ll see
You will remember my name, name, name, name, ohhh
[Verse 2: Yazz]
It’s the real, shorty
I know you gotta feel me
I asked her for a deal
Said if you can make us a billi
Been running this here
Got a cramp in my achilles
Said you only get one shot
I took not, 50
[Verse 3: Sierra McClain]
Guess I’m on my A.I.
Put on for the city
And I gave them all I can
If you fall off then say bye
You know I’ma ball
Overseeing all the downers
Looking through the game
All I see is real around us
Yea yea
I’m just praying that they notice me
No viction had to deal with all this fiction
Yea yea
Had to deal with all this tension
When they quick to switch up on ya
[Chorus: Sierra McClain]
When it’s all
Said and done
I will be
Number 1
You’ll see
You will remember my name, name, name, name
Don’t count me out
I’m here to stay
Before you know
I’ll change the game
You’ll see
You will remember my name, name, name, name, ohhh
[Verse 4: Sierra McClain]
I will not cry
No I will not die
I will not stop until they remember me
I will not cry
No I will not die
I will not stop until they remember me
[Chorus: Sierra McClain]
When it’s all
Said and done
I will be
Number 1
You’ll see
You will remember my name, name, name, name
Don’t count me out
I’m here to stay
Before you know
I’ll change the game
You’ll see
You will remember my name, name, name, name, ohhh
Scroll to the videos for Hakeem Lyon’s new Empire songs! Hakeem and Jamal team up to deliver the track “Over Everything” on “One Before Another.” Check out the amazing song below:
Hakeem and Nessa dropped their new hit, “Remember My Name” on the show’s “Sin That Amends” episode:
We find out that Nessa is actually Shine’s sister! We don’t think Hakeem will be hitting on her anymore.
One thing we do like about Shine is his skills in the studio. Him and Hakeem work on the song, “Factz” which is definitely a hit. We’ll never forgive Shine for ruining Hakeem and Laura’s wedding but he could be exactly what Hakeem needs to take his music career to the next level.
As Jamal continues to recover from being shot, Lucious will soon be forced to look to Hakeem for new music. Thanks to Shine, he’ll have plenty hits ready. Hakeem has far too much talent to continue to live in Jamal’s shadow. It’s his turn!
In “Sin That Amends” Hakeem and Nessa will team up on the track “Remember My Name.” Tiana won’t appreciate all the attention Nessa is getting. Last season it was Laura and now there’s another challenger with plans to become Empire‘s new Princess.
We’ll be sure to keep this post updated throughout the entire third season!
We are sad to report that Biz Markie died on July 16, 2021. He was 57-years-old.
Biz Markie is not dead, he is alive. The rapper’s recent appearance on Empire led an old rumor to resurface. Back in 2012 a YouTube video titled “Breaking News Biz Markie Found Dead!” was posted and shared on the Internet. Once you watch the video you realize that the rumor is a complete lie.
The rapper showed up at Cookie Lyon’s house in Empire‘s “Sin That Amends” episode. Lucious is trying to get Cookie back and he knows how much she loves Markie’s song, “Just A Friend.” Lucious was actually performing the song on the corner when him and Cookie met for the first time. Although Cookie is flattered, she has no intentions on getting back with Lucious.
Biz Markie Dead?
Cookie is out for revenge after seeing Lucious marry Anika. Lucious decided to marry Anika to avoid prison but Cookie can care less. Cookie is well aware that Anika was more than just a friend while she was stuck in jail. Lucious’ gestures were charming but as Cookie explains, she has money and could have bought all the items herself.
While Loretha gave back most of the gifts, she decided to keep the gold gun that Lucious gave her. Cookie is from the streets and if Lucious keeps trying, he might find the right heart string that convinces her to give him another chance.
Empire makes us lose our minds. Last week we were mistaking Xzibit for Busta Rhymes and this week we were convinced that Lauryn McClain made an appearance on the series. That’s not Lauryn McClain, that’s her sister, Sierra. The beautiful sisters look exactly alike. You most likely remember them from their comedy drama, Daddy’s Little Girls.
Lauryn was born on January 9, 1997 and is currently 19-years-old. Her big sister, Sierra, was born on March 16, 1994 and is 22. Their sister, China Anne, was born on August 25, 1998 and is 18. Similar to the Smollett family, the McClains are full of talent. We would love to see Sierra’s sisters join her on the show!
Lauryn McClain Empire
The talented ladies reminds us of an amazing group that recently appeared on the series: DMK. After winning Fox’s Next Empire Artist competition, the trio appeared on the “Rise by Sin” episode of the series. There’s something special about three beautiful divas showing the world their talent. From TLC to Destiny’s Child we fully understand why Lee Daniels decided to launch his upcoming series, Star.
Speaking of talented trios, we hope to see more tracks from Ménage a Trois despite Laura leaving Hakeem at the altar. Hakeem should have stuck to the original name: Rainbow Sensation!
Hey everyone, my name is Sarah. And as you can see, I am a new member that will try to contribute to this blog whenever I can. So if you don’t mind following me, that would mean a lot! As you can see, I’ve supported Jussie since the beginning of Empire, and showing love to him is a huge passion of mine. Especially since I am available on social media. A big thanks to those who show love to this site every once in a while, new upgrades will be coming to this site soon so that it will be more enjoyable. Again, thank you to those who read this. Reach me here for any questions about anything/Empire or Jussie related here.
Cardeion Banks is the actor who plays young Tariq on Empire. As seen in the image below, the young actor is from Wisconsin, Milwaukee to be exact. We were happy to find out that there would be a young version of Lucious‘ brother because there are still so many unanswered questions involving Lucious’ past.
Actor, Morocco Omari plays present day Tariq “The Freak” Cousins. Empire Entertainment’s future could be negatively impacted if Tariq is able to dig up any dirt on Lucious. We’re surprised the brothers haven’t turned to their mother, Leah Walker (Leslie Uggams) for more information about their fathers.
Who Plays Young Tariq On Empire? Cardeion Banks
When it comes to flashbacks, Lee Daniels and co. know exactly how to deliver a compelling story. The trash can scene was one of the saddest moments I’ve ever watched on television. If Tariq’s flashbacks are half as bad, I might not be able to watch. We already saw the incident between Lucious and Tariq’s father, and that was horrific enough!
Speaking of sad flashbacks, who can forget Cookie in jail, begging to die. It’s easy to take Empire for granted now that the show’s record-breaking first season is old news. The series is no long shattering historic records but it’s still delivering captivating content on a consistent basis.
Scroll to the Snapcode for Holly Willoughby’s Snapchat name!
The Sun reports that Holly received numerous requests to post revealing images moments after she announced that she joined the image sharing app. The incident reminds us that the app was originally created for “sexting” (sending and/or receiving sexual content between mobile phones). These days, some of the most respectable businesses around the world are using the app.
According to Daily Mail Holly and her “This Morning” co-host, Phillip Schofield, recently shared numerous behind-the-scenes images of the show’s set via Instagram. The duo’s social media marketing campaign has clearly started. Make sure you’re following all of their social media accounts!
Holly reminds us how powerful social media can be. The amazing part is that it’s only becoming more dominant. Snapchat just announced their Spectacles, sunglasses with a built-in camera. Similar to Google Glass, they’ll be able to wirelessly upload recorded videos to the image sharing app.
If Go Pro is smart, they’ll partner with the company before they’re considered competitors. We expect innovative marketers, like Holly Willoughby, to take advantage of the Spectacles. Do you plan on purchasing them? If so, how will you use them?
