  • New Girl, Singer On Empire

    Sierra Aylina McClain aka Nessa is the new girl on Empire that stole the first episode of season 3.  The singer saved Jamal after he had a panic attack on stage.  Lucious could care less about Jamal’s condition.  He really upset me when he pretended to shoot Jamal in the back of the head, wasn’t the trash can incident enough!?

    Last season, Laura Calleros (Jamila Velazquez) was Empire‘s fresh face with the beautiful voice.  One season later, and there’s a new impressive singer on the series.  We love how the series continues to introduce new talent to the world.  It all started with the Lyon brothers: Hakeem, Jamal and Andre.

    Some forget that Hakeem was the first Lyon brother to makes headlines with his hit song, “Drip Drop.”  Although Timbaland is gone, Empire‘s music team has everything it needs to provide Nessa and Hakeem with a successful song like “Drip Drop.” Nessa’s beautiful voice and Hakeem’s undeniable swag is more than enough.

    Jamal didn’t let “Drip Drop” get all the attention.  A few episodes later Jamal performed his remix of “You’re So Beautiful” shocking Lucious.  Nessa has saved Jamal by performing “Need Freedom” but we want to see the two singers collaborate on a song.  Both their voices are amazing and we would love to hear Sierra on multiple tracks on this season’s soundtrack!

    The YBF reports that Romeo Miller and Serayah McNeill were recently spotted in Hollywood grabbing a pizza together.  When you’re a single celebrity who grabs lunch with another single celebrity, you’re officially dating that person.  Let’s be honest, they’re both young rich and famous, why wouldn’t they be dating!?

    The rapper and actor will appear on Empire as Gram this season.  Serayah’s character, Tiana, is over Hakeem and Gram’s her new love interest.  By the looks of things, Romeo could be Serayah’s new love interest in real life.  Make sure you’re following all his social media accounts!

    I always wondered why Bryshere Y. Gray (Hakeem Lyon) never made a move on Serayah.  He once explained the importance of keeping business relationships professional but he can learn a valuable lesson from Trai Byers: When you meet a woman that you think is special, don’t let her get away.

    Romeo was offered his role on Empire after Kid Cudi turned it down.  Similar to the way Miller is teaching Bryshere not to let a beautiful woman like Serayah get away, the actor also taught Cudi how to take advantage of opportunities.  Master P has done a fine job raising a very smart, young superstar.

  • Angela Yee On Empire

    Charlamagne Tha God represented The Breakfast Club well with his appearance on Empire and now it’s Angela Yee’s turn! The show used the radio personality’s voice on the season 2 episode, “Et Tu, Brute?” On “Sin That Amends” we get to see the Brooklyn native’s face! Hopefully she doesn’t start any drama like Charlamagne did when he appeared on the series.

    Charlamagne also appeared on the “Et Tu, Brute?” episode which featured Alicia Keys as Skye Summers.  Charlamagne calls Skye out on the episode, for acting black.  The incident reminded us of some of The Breakfast Club’s best interviews.  Charlamagne is known to say anything on his mind, no matter how inappropriate or uncalled for.

    Angela is usually The Breakfast Club’s peacemaker.  The show’s third co-host, DJ Envy, is typically too busy laughing at “The God’s” jokes so Yee usually has to interrupt Charlamagne before he says too much.  The radio personality has even made guests cry on the morning show!

    Angela was born and raised in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.  Busta Rhymes, MC Lyte and Bobby Shmurda are just a few of the other stars from East Flatbush.  She started her radio career as an intern at Hot 97 and she’s now one of the most popular personalities in the game.  We hope her appearance on Empire leads to additional acting opportunities because we want to see more of the beautiful diva!

  • Black Justin Bieber Atlanta TV Show

    Episode 5 of Atlanta‘s first season, “Nobody Beats the Biebs” was absolutely hilarious.  The episode starts with Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry) and Earn (Donald Glover) at a celebrity basketball game.  Earn tries to spark a conversation with the reporter but she isn’t interested.  The Black Justin Bieber then enters the building.

    The black Justin is loud and rude but everyone loves him.  He gives the reporter Paper Boi was interested in the hand and she doesn’t mind.  He then proclaims, “I’m gonna dunk on a b****!” Alfred hates Justin and they end up fighting during the game.

    Singer, Lloyd, plays in the basketball game along with the actor who played Steve Urkel, Jaleel White.  Black Bieber scores on Jaleel and the fans love it.  Paper Boi gets mad and tells Jaleel that he would guard black Justin.  The switch doesn’t help.  On the next possession, Justin scores on Alfred.

    Black Biebs then steals the ball away from Alfred but when he attempts to score, Alfred tackles him before he is able to.  The two get into a fight and Justin apologizes after the game.  He performs a song and everyone loves it.  The reporter advises Paper Boi to play his role as a rapper.  She thinks he’s being too nice.

  • Who Plays Sonja On Empire? Jessica Klaas

    Jessica Klaas is the actress who plays Sonja on Empire.  With Rhonda Lyon dying, the show’s main cast is now 100% black.  Sonja is one of the very few non-black actors on the entire series.  The beautiful model plays Lucious’ assistant on the show.  Gabourey Sidibe’s character, Becky, was Lucious’ assistant throughout the first season of the series.

    According to her IMDb page, the actress has already appeared in some episodes of the series.  The following list includes the episodes she’s scheduled to appear in along with the episodes she has already appeared in:

    Who Plays Sonja On Empire? Jessica Klaas
    Lucious has lost his Cookie, making Sonja’s role as his assistant even more important.  He married Anika, a woman he doesn’t want to be with and he has horrible relationships with all of his sons.  Hopefully, Sonja will be able to keep Lucious calm as he attempts to expand the company.
    One character that we didn’t see in the first episode of the third season was Thirsty Rawlings, Lucious’ lawyer.  Lucious will need all the help he can get this season, as he tries to outsmart the feds, including his very own brother, Tariq the Freak.

  • The Caucasian’s Guide to Black TV Shows

    Empire has changed network television, helping to convince executives that diversity is really worth pushing for.  Lee Daniels and Danny Strong joining forces to create the Empire TV show proves the progress we have made as a society.  People now understand that racism is ignorant yet there is still work to do.

    The cast of Empire continues to amaze us every week as families and friends are beginning to unite in order to enjoy the show’s entertaining moments together.

    As cross-cultural bonding continues to increase, many people find themselves watching television shows where they are the minority, and have no frame of reference from which to base their etiquette.  In order to bridge these cultural gaps, we have developed some rules intended to assist our Caucasian friends who might find themselves watching the Empire TV show with some of their black friends.

  • Meek Mill Brutal Knockout, Beanie Sigel

    The Meek Mill vs The Game beef is getting violent.  Beanie Sigel was backstage at Diddy’s Bad Boy Family concert in Philadelphia when Meek Mill’s boy, Teefy Bey, knocked him out.  The Game’s “92 Bars” diss mentions Beanie.  Meek is from Philadelphia so to make it clear that he only had a problem with Meek and not the city, he sends Sigel a shout out.

    In “92 Bars” The Game states, “Sigel wouldn’t loved it, Philly would’ve f***ed with it.”  Meek retaliated with his track “Ooouuu.”  Sigel makes a brief appearance on the track, “One call I’m in LA in three hours, the bully, please don’t bring me out of retirement.” A few days after the track was released Beanie revealed that he helped write the track.  He also explains that he had no beef with The Game.

    Sigel has never been the type of rapper who was afraid of beef.  Back when he was in his prime, he had an unforgettable battle with Jadakiss.  This is most likely why Teefy Bey decided to punch him.  Meek and his crew were under the impression that Sigel knew the rules of a rap beef.

    One of the most important rules is not apologizing after dissing your opponent.  The video below shows Sigel dissing Meek at the Bad Boy concert:

  • Do Not Disturb Empire Is On

    There’s nothing worst than being unable to enjoy a new episode of Empire.  It’s one of the only shows I keep up with but there’s always someone interrupting me when I try to watch it.  This post provides some “Do Not Disturb Empire Is On” memes.  If your friends are anything like mine, the memes could make things worse.

    Actor, Taye Diggs will appear in the series as Angelo Dubois.  Jamal teams up with him to discuss gun violence.  Angelo is a community activist who is very smart.  If you have been keeping up with Empire then you know Cookie is always creeping!  As much as we want to see her back with Lucious, it’s probably not happening.

    Angelo will be Cookie’s new love interest.  Last season, when Jamal found out that Cookie was falling for Lucious again he warned her to be careful.  Although Jamal has Lucious’ back when he was in prison, he knows how his father is and doesn’t want his mother to get hurt.

    Andre surprisingly has a run in with the police in the “Sin That Amends” episode.  We’re praying for Andre! After losing an unborn child and a wife, life can’t get worse for him.  We’re surprised that he can even be in the same room as Anika.  Although he knew that Rhonda was trying to kill her, I wouldn’t be able to forgive Anika for killing my unborn child and lover.

     

  • Lil Wayne Victory Over Birdman

    Hip Hop Early reports Lil Wayne’s $51 million lawsuit against Birdman could be decided based on what Birdman did with $70 million that he was given by Universal.  The $70 million was an advance of the $100 million Birdman received for Cash Money and Young Money.  Birdman argues that he spent the money on marketing, royalties and business expenses.

    According to Rap Up a judge has ordered Birdman, whose real name is Bryan Williams, to share all his financial documentation with Wayne (Dwayne Michael Carter Jr).  This is typically a something a cash king like “Baby” wouldn’t want to do.  The documents could reveal any loopholes he has used to secure more of his finances.

    In 2014 the IRS slapped Birdman with a tax lien.  Then, in 2015 he was hit with another tax lien for failing to pay nearly $2 million in back taxes.  No matter how much you’re worth, bad financial decisions can lead you to the poor house.  If Baby has been mishandling Cash Money’s finances, Tunechi could be forced to shut down Young Money.

    50 Cent is a rapper who made horrible financial decisions that eventually led to bankruptcy.  As a result, the members of G-Unit will not be able to enjoy the financial freedom that seemed promised.  Hopefully Baby will fix this situation fast!

    Rob Kardashian is playing no games when it comes to Blac Chyna.  After his sister didn’t invite Blac Chyna, the mother of his child, to a baby shower they planned for him he decided enough was enough.  Rob leaked his sister, Kylie’s phone number on Twitter: 8184825859.  The 818 covers Los Angeles, CA, where Kylie lives of course.

    While this may seem like a low blow, I would love to see Kim’s reaction if her siblings didn’t accept Kanye West.  Rob accepted Lamar Odom, with no problem, when his sister Khloe started dating him.  On the contrary, Rob should pick on someone his own size so we can see some real Kardashian beef.

    Rob doesn’t hesitate to go after his younger sisters but he never targets Kim in his fun and games.  We guess he appreciates the pedestal she has built for the family.  After seeing how Kim handled Taylor Swift, Rob could be picking his battles wisely.

    The Kardashian crew should probably join forces and go after The Game.  The rapper called out Blac Chyna and Rob’s sisters in his song, “92 Bars.”  Rob can’t handle the rapper by himself and could really use Kanye and Kim’s assistance.  Instead of tormenting each other, the Kardashians should be insulting The Game for his rude lyrics.
