  • Nicki Minaj’s Rough Patch Continues – Loses KMart Deal

    Rap and hip hop singer Nicki Minaj has had a rough week. She is currently dealing with a red hot war with rapper Remy Ma. Remy Ma rocked Nicki’s world with the release of diss track shETHER. This recent development hits Nicki’s pocket book.

    According to Kmart, they are “thrilled that we were the first retail partner to create a custom apparel line for Nicki Minaj,” a rep for Kmart tells Billboard. “From the development of the line, to showcasing it in stores, to designing exclusive capsule collections, we have enjoyed a positive relationship with Nicki Minaj and her team over the last three years. As our partnership came to a close in 2016, we would like to thank Nicki Minaj for being a great partner and wish her continued success in her future endeavors.”

    Nicki Minaj does not have to worry too much though. She has come a long way from her early days on MySpace. Nicki Minaj’s net worth is now estimated between 50 and 60 million dollars. She has partnered with lipstick and other women’s companies over the years.

    One thing that should be considered is if KMart was the right fit for Nicki to begin with. KMart is more of a red state company and I doubt that someone in Arkansas for example would buy Nicki Minaj clothes as a personal purchase or for a family member.

  • Did Dakota Johnson Really Try to Flirt with Jamie Dornan at the Oscar’s?

    Don’t freak out over
    it! It is almost as if they were just messing with the people in the audience
    and at home watching. Did you see Dakota Johnson try to flirt with Jamie Dornan
    as they took the stage together to announce the winner of ‘La La Land?’
    Although it may have
    seemed awkward at first, it was just another day for the co-stars of ‘Fifty
    Shades Darker’ to flirt with each other. After all, they do more than flirt
    together in the movie so how could this be awkward for them or us?
    The so-called flirting
    happened when Johnson told Dornan he looked familiar to her and he said to her,
    “I’m sure I do.” This playful banter between the two happened right in front of
    Dornan’s wife who is surely used to it by now.
    After Johnson and
    Dornan flirted with each other a little, Dornan then started announcing the
    nominees for the next award with his sexy voice.
    What do you think about
    these two playfully flirting with each other? Do you think Dornan’s wife got
    mad? Probably not because like mentioned above, she is probably used to it.

  • Did Nicki Minaj Just Confirm Meek Mill Robbed Her?

    The Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj beef opened a Pandora’s box of wild claims, piping hot tea, and brash accusations. You may have heard that not too long after Nicki announced her split from Meek Mill, her house was robbed. Of course the fingers of the internet pointed directly at Meek, in defense the rapper has been being a bit of a Bitter Betty about the situation when he’s liked and commented on posts that have been dissing his ex, and now fans may have confirmation from rapper The Game that Meek was indeed behind the heist.
    A day after the Remy Ma dropped shETHER, where she said that Meek claimed that Nicki’s butt implants popped (among other harsh accusations), The Game took it upon himself to out Meek Mill for basically being less of a man for running his mouth about Minaj and getting her house robbed.

    Nicki Minaj may or may not have confirmed these accusations with a simple Instagram like. It wouldn’t be that hard to believe that Meek is connected in some way because of some of the details of the robbery. According to TMZ, not only did the thieves get away with over $200K worth of jewelry, they vandalized items in the house, cut up the “Starships” rapper’s clothes, and destroyed picture frames and perfume bottles. It could be a pure coincidence that it happened so soon after the break up but it seems that it may have been an inside job.
    Speaking of Nicki Minaj and The Game, it seems like the cali rapper is smitten by Ms. Minaj because in his rant bashing Meek, he praised Nicki and even referenced their “Pills N Potions” video chemistry by saying “I shoulda never took my hands from around Nicki that day we shot #PillsNPotions.” Not to mention, Nicki is the only one that The Game is currently following on Instagram.You can read his full statement here.

  • Denzel’s “Best Actor” Oscar Loss And The Aftermath!

    When you think of the Oscars, you think about Fashion, Your favorite shows and movies, and of course the biggest names in show business. Names like Ryan Reynolds, Terrence Howard, and Denzel Washington, and you are always on the edge of your seat when it comes time. Who’s going to be nominated?, Who’s going to win?, who is going to be proclaimed the best actors and actresses of the year?

    When the category of “Best Actor” came time to present high hopes were set on Denzel Washington, Nominated for his role in the movie “Fences”. Only to find out things would not go as everybody had hoped. In the end, Washington got beat out by the newcomer Casey Affleck who starred in  “Manchester by the sea”. The Look on Washington’s face was utter disbelief, and you could tell he was definitely not expecting that loss.

    This outcome made Fans of Washington very upset and they   immediately took to twitter to express the dismay with the results. Stating that “ Denzel should have won”. Even some big time names in the biz  like Russell Simmons, and T.J. Holmes took to twitter to vent about the results of the nomination, saying that “Fences” was some of Washingtons best work to date, and many seem to agree. I think we’re all curious to  see how long this uproar will last.

  • How Did ‘Biggest Loser’ Host Bob Harper Suffer from a Heart Attack?

    As healthy as the ‘Biggest Loser’ host, Bob Harper is, how in the world did he, of all people, suffer from a heart attack two weeks ago? According to reports, the host was working out at a gym when he collapsed. It was a good thing a doctor was there as well and had administered CPR and kept Harper alive using paddles.
    But, the question again is, how did he suffer from a heart attack when he is as healthy as can be? The doctor’s say it is genetic since his mother passed away from a heart attack. Poor Bob.
    Although he was in the hospital for six days, he tells reporters, he is on the mends now. He is still in NYC since his doctors have not cleared him to fly back to Los Angeles yet. Let’s hope Harper stays on the mends and doesn’t end up like his mother!

    This just goes to show that you can be as healthy as you can be and still suffer from different things if it is in your family medical history. What do you think about this?     Beyonce, Jay Z, and Blue Ivy were recently at the NBA All Star game in New Orleans. Perhaps ironically or perfectly Blue Ivy lived up to her name and enjoyed some blue cotton candy.

Beyonce recently had to cancel her February performance at Coachella because her doctors wanted her to do a less intense schedule and focus on a healthy pregnancy.

    Jay Z remains a strong presence in the music, movie and even sports industry. He is currently making waves with his sports agent company Roc Nation Sports. Some of Jay Z’s clients include Robinson Cano from the Seattle Mariners, Dez Bryant from the Dallas Cowboys, Kevin Durant from the Golden State Warriors and boxing champion Andre Ward.

    Jay Z, Beyonce, and their children seem like a happy family and I’m sure they will have a bright future ahead.

  • MY GAWWDDD! The Men Of The Oscar Winning Moonlight Just Blessed Us With These Calvin Klein Underwear Ads

    Last night was a huge night for the sensational film, Moonlight. At the 89th Academy Awards, the breathtaking, Black cast, film took home awards for Best Supporting Actor (Mahershala Ali), Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Picture.

    However, it doesn’t look like that’s all we have to celebrate. Last night, the films stars Trevante Rhodes, Ashton Sanders, and Alex Hibbert who all play Chiron in the film, showed up on the red carpet rocking Calvin Klein tuxes. Well now we know why. Apparently, they along with Mahershala Ali have landed a spot in Calvin Klein’s new black and white ads for Spring 2017 for their underwear campaign.

    This morning, Calvin Klein creative director Raf Simons released a statement saying,  “It’s an acknowledgement of remarkable actors who are revealing something important of being a man today in what they do.” All we can say is THANK YOU!

  • Will Smith’s Newest Movie Bright Is Headed To Netflix (VIDEO)

    It’s no secret that Will Smith hasn’t exactly been racking in the dough at the box office lately. Though Suicide Squad made some cash, it wasn’t exactly the best superhero film we’ve ever seen. Also, Smith’s most recent film Collateral Beauty was pretty much the biggest flop of life both at the box office and among critics. Still, these setbacks aren’t stopping the former Fresh Prince who has teamed back up with Suicide Squad director David Ayer for the Netflix crime/fantasy/thriller, Bright.

    The teaser trailer for the film debuted on TV last night during the Oscars and from what we can tell, it looks like a mix between Men in Black and I, Robot. Netflix hasn’t released too many deets on Bright yet, but we do know that Smith plays a cop in a futuristic world where orcs and fairies live among people. It actually looks pretty intriguing. Joel Edgerton who starred in Loving this past year will be Smith’s co-star. The film is set to drop on Netflix in December (and word on the street is Netflix paid $90 million for it.)   • New Netflix film Burning Sands takes a hard look at Black Frats

    There is a new film coming to Netflix on March 10th that is sure to stir up some buzz. The film is entitled “Burning Sands”. It stars ‘Moonlight’s’ breakthrough star Trevante Rhodes. The film tackles the subject of hazing in African American frats.

    The film takes a hard look at the pledging process in these black fraternities. It dares the viewer to ask is it worth it? Is it worth it to go through Hell week and get beaten up or lose one’s dignity just to gain a brother hood of sorts.

    Hazing is an issue with black frats.  In 2014 alone, black fraternity members were arrested at the University of Central Arkansas for paddling and being pelted with raw eggs. Six members of another black fraternity were arrested for paddling that sent one student to the hospital for a month. And at the University of Georgia, 11 black fraternity members were arrested after allegedly lining up potential new members along a wall and striking them.

    The new Netflix film Burning Sands will certainly be a timely film that dares to tackle big issues. Trevante Rhodes will certainly give a strong performance and make viewers think about the topic matter.

  • The Oscars #EnvelopeGate Ruined Moonlight’s Big Moment- Here’s What Went Down

    The 89th Annual Academy Awards started off promisingly enough, Mahershala Ali took home the Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his work in Moonlight (the first Muslim actor EVER to do so). Queen Viola Davis also snagged an Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Fences, and Moonlight scribe Tarell Alvin McCraney and Director Barry Jenkins took home the award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Everything was going pretty well, especially when we got introduced to Gary from Chicago, but then the biggest awards of the night were announced.

    For the final award of the evening, veteran actors Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty took to the stage to announce the Best Picture of the year. After reading the envelope, Beatty looked a tad confused, but Dunaway went ahead and announced the Best Picture winner as La La Land.  That’s when things started to get weird AF.  In a bizarre turn of events, as the producers for La La Land were making their acceptance speeches an Academy Awards producer scurried onto the stage to say that there had been a HUGE error.

    Apparently, someone handed Warren Beatty the envelope for Best Actress, which went to La La Land star Emma Stone earlier in the evening.  Though the snafu was cleared up, it still took away the initial shine for the cast of Moonlight, which is annoying and unfair. It was also awkward AF that the La La Land producers kept thanking people after they KNEW they’d lost. #BoyBye

    Anyway, the fact of the matter is that Moonlight is the Best Picture of the year and that win is historic. It’s the second film in Oscar’s history with an all-Black cast to win Best Picture (2013’s 12 Years A Slave was first) and, it’s also the first LGBTQ film to win Best Picture. We just wish the film’s stunning win was not marred by a ridiculous mix-up that has NEVER HAPPENED before in the history of the Academy Awards.

    This morning, PricewaterhouseCoopers the accounting firm that handles the Oscar ballots released a statement saying,

    “We sincerely apologize to “Moonlight,” “La La Land,” Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway, and Oscar viewers for the error that was made during the award announcement for Best Picture. The presenters had mistakenly been given the wrong category envelope and when discovered, was immediately corrected. We are currently investigating how this could have happened, and deeply regret that this occurred.
    We appreciate the grace with which the nominees, the Academy, ABC, and Jimmy Kimmel handled the situation.

    It looks like somebody won’t be invited back to do the awards next year. Anyway, congrats to Barry Jenkins, Tarell Alvin McCraney, Mahershala Ali and the cast of Moonlight. Y’all deserve it.
