  • Empire New Cast Members 2018 – Season 5

    Here’s a list of Empire‘s new 2018, season 5 cast members:

    Katlynn Simone as Treasure

    Katlynn Simone plays Treasure on season 5 of Empire.  Cookie discovered her after visiting Andre in prison.  Treasure has a beautiful voice so Cookie invites her to the house so she can sing for her and Lucious.

    Toby Onwumere as Kai

    Toby Onwumere plays Kai on season 5 of Empire.  Kai is Jamal’s new boyfriend.  He’s a war correspondent who Jamal meets in London.  Hakeem points a gun at Toby’s face but Toby doesn’t panic.

    A.Z. Kelsey as Jeff Kingsley

    A.Z. Kelsey plays Jeff Kingsley on season 5 of Empire.  He has an intimate relationship with Giselle and he starts drama with Lucious.  Kelsey is one of the only white cast members on Empire.

    Mario Barrett as Devon

    Singer Mario Barrett will play DeVon on Empire.  DeVon is a singer on the rise so Cookie and Lucious want to sign him to their new label: Lyon Family Management.  Empire Entertainment also wants to sign the talented singer who is taking care of his sick sister.

    Recurring Cast Members Who Were Promoted To Series Regulars

    Nicole Ari Parker (Giselle Barker) and Rhyon Nicole Brown (Maya) were promoted from recurring cast members to series regulars.  Giselle is one of Eddie Barker’s ex-wives and Maya is Poundcake’s daughter.

  • Who Dies On Empire? Leaving 2018, Coffin – Spoilers (Poll)

    Andre Lyon most likely dies on season 5 of Empire.  We think he’s the person in the coffin that Lucious is seen standing over.  Jamal and Hakeem are more valuable because they can sing.  We don’t think Cookie is in the coffin because Empire wouldn’t be Empire without Cookie Lyon!

    Andre has horrible luck and I think Trai Byers is ready to move on.  His wife, Grace Byers has moved on and now plays Reeva on Fox’s new series The Gifted.

    “The audience won’t know who is in that coffin until the end of the season”

    Brett Mahoney recently told Entertainment Weekly that we won’t know who is in the coffin until the end off the season.  He also explained that Empire‘s writers are free from constraints so death could come for anyone on the series.

    Is Eddie Barker in the coffin?

    Many thought Eddie Barker was in the coffin but the tweet above explains that Eddie can’t be the person in the coffin because he was cremated.

    Does Lucious’ mother die on Empire?

    The tweet above explains that Lucious’ mother, Leah Walker could be the person who dies.  It has to be someone Lucious cares about because he’s emotional and even apologizes to the person.

  • Who Plays Kai On Empire? – Tony Onwumere

    Tony Onwumere plays Kai on Empire.  Kai is a war correspondent and Jamal Lyon’s latest boyfriend.  Jamal takes him home to meet Cookie and Lucious and Lucious surprisingly compliments Kai for doing an impressive job as a war correspondent.

    Tony Onwumere Is Not Gay

    Jussie Smollett is gay and proud so it’s easy for him to portray the struggles of a gay man as Jamal Lyon.  Onwumere plays a gay character on Empire but he is not gay in real life.  In the following Instagram post he explains that he’s looking for a wife:

    Tony Onwumere was born on February 1, 1990 and is currently 28-years-old.  He attended the University of Evansville and the University of California, San Diego.

    After graduating, Onwumere appeared in Santa Cruz Shakespeare.  He is best known for his role as Capheus in the Netflix series Sense8.

    Getting shot really messed Hakeem up.  The video above shows that the youngest Lyon son is not taking any chances.  Jamal and Kai get off the elevator and Hakeem pulls a gun on Kai.

  • Did Hakeem From Empire Die? – Spoilers

    Hakeem from Empire did not die.  In episode 1 of season 5, “Steal From the Thief” we see Hakeem recovering.  He was shot by Blake’s father in season 4 of the series and he lost part of his lung.

    Hakeem and Tiana are living together and she wants him to get back on stage so she can get back on Eddie’s good side.  Hakeem is having trouble breathing and refuses to lip sync.

    Hakeem and Tiana are finally together and they welcomed an adorable son named Prince.  The couple chose the perfect name for their baby boy.  Empire‘s Prince tribute episode revealed that the Lyon family loved the legendary singer.  Prince is also the perfect name because Hakeem is the “Prince of Empire.”

    Hakeem Performs For The First Time In 2 Years

    Hakeem told Tiana that he wouldn’t use a backing track during his performance but that’s exactly what he did when they couple performed “Ibiza.” He was unable to finish the song and Blake had to take over.

    Julie Swetnick, Deborah Ramirez and Christine Blasey Ford are the three women who have accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct.

    Julie Swetnick’s Twitter username is @JulieSwetnick but she deleted all her tweets.  Her page reveals that she created the account in August of 2017 and she has 82 friends:

    Julie Swetnick Is Represented By Michael Avenatti

    Julie Swetnick is represented by Michael Avenatti, the same attorney who represented Stromy Daniels.  President Donald Trump isn’t happy about what’s happening to Brett Kavanaugh and he recently called out Avenatti.  The popular lawyer clapped back at the president by calling him a habitual liar:

    Julie Swetnick claims that she met Kavanaugh and Mark Judge at a party in either 1980 or 1981.  She explains that she witnessed unacceptable behavior and says that Kavanaugh and Judge were joined at the hip.  Swetnick explains that Judge knows personal information about Kavanaugh that he refuses to share.

  • Who Plays Maya On Empire? – Rhyon Nicole Brown

    Rhyon Nicole Brown plays Maya on Empire.  She was recently promoted to a series regular while A.Z. Kelsey and Katlynn Simone were given recurring roles on season 5 of the Fox series.

    Brown appeared in season 4 of the series as Maya, Poundcake’s daughter.  Cookie was able to introduce Maya to Poundcake before Poundcake passed away.

    Brown appeared in one of the saddest scenes of Empire‘s fourth season.  Moments before Poundcake dies, Maya reads a heartfelt letter she wrote.

    Rhyon Nicole Brown was born on October 6, 1992 and is currrently 25-years-old.  She is the younger sister of RaVaughn Brown, a singer and actress.  Rhyon is also a talented singer.  She recently uploaded the following Estelle “Better” cover on SoundCloud:

    Rhyon has appeared in numerous TV shows including My Wife and Kids, Two and a Half Men and That’s So Raven.  In 2016, she played Michel’le in Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le.

    Later this year, Brown will appear in Killers Anonymous and Throwback Holiday.  Jessica Alba, Suki Waterhouse and Gary Oldman will also appear in Killers Anonymous.  Jennifer Freeman, Robert Ri’chard and Jean Elie appear alongside Brown in Throwback Holiday.

  • Who Plays Jeff On Empire? – A.Z. Kelsey

    Actor A.Z. Kelsey plays Jeff Kingsley on Empire.  He made his debut on episode 1 of the fifth season of the series, “Steal From The Thief.” Kelsey and Katlynn Simone landed recurring roles on Empire while Rhyon Nicole Brown was promoted to a series regular.

    Kelsey attended the Yale School of Drama, the same school Trai Byers attended.  In 2014, he played Matt in Unforgettable and in 2015 he appeared in What Would You Do? as a bartender.  Kingsley also appeared in Bull as Matt Williams.

    Jeff Kingsley is a Silicon Valley mover and shaker who recently became a label executive.  He has skeletons in his closet similar to most of the characters on Empire.

    The tweet above implies that Jeff will have a feud with Lucious Lyon.  Eddie Barker recently stole Lucious’ company so the last thing he needs is another enemy.

    The fifth season of Empire will start two years after the Lyon family loses Empire Entertainment.  Lucious and Cookie are right back where they started: The bottom.  Lucious worked hard to build the company and Cookie sacrificed her freedom for 17 years and they’re left with nothing.

  • Who Plays Treasure On Empire? – Katlynn Simone

    Katlynn Simone plays Treasure on Empire.  She appears in the first episode of the show’s fifth season, “Steal From The Thief.” You may remember Simone from The Quad.  She played Bronwyn on the BET series and she played Brit Brat on The Game.

    Simone and A.Z. Kelsey (Jeff Kingsley) were given recurring roles on season 5 of the Fox series while Rhyon Nicole Brown (Maya) was promoted to a series regular.

    On Empire, Treasure is a prison social worker until she meets Cookie Lyon.  The video below shows Treasure singing for Cookie and Lucious.  Eddie Barker stole Empire Entertainment so the Lyons are working hard to find new talent.

    Katlynn Simone Smith was born on October 30, 1995 in Houston, TX.  Along with Empire, The Quad and The Game, she also appeared in Ray Donovan, Dr. Ken and The First Family.  In 2019 Katlynn will appear in Starving Artist, a TV series she directed alongside Malcolm Roberson.

  • Tracy Jenkins – Taraji P. Henson Best Friend

    Taraji P. Henson and her best friend, Tracy Jenkins appeared on The Breakfast Club.  Jenkins’ name is actually spelled Tracie not “Tracy” or “Tracey.” They discussed The Boris L. Henson Foundation along with mental health issues they’ve dealt with their entire lives. 

    Henson also shared intimate details about her personal life including information about the problems she experienced raising her son, Marcell Johnson as a single mother.

    Taraji named Tracie the Executive Director of The Boris L. Henson Foundation.  Boris was Taraji’s father, who sadly passed away in 2006.

    Taraji had a great relationship with her father and was traumatized when he died.  Instead of mourning her father’s death, Taraji is celebrating his life! 

    Boris L. Henson will be remembered forever thanks to Tarjai’s foundation which was created to put an end to the stigma around mental health issues in the African-American community.

    Taraji And Tracie Have Been Friends For 35+ Years

    Taraji and Tracie have been friends for more than 35 years making them family at this point.  They’ve been through it all together, and Henson shared some very special moments on social media.

    The following Instagram post explains that Taraji and Tracie met in the 7th grade and have been close ever since.  Henson thanks her for keeping it real and wishes her a Happy Birthday!

  • Remy Ma Baby Pregnant? – Papoose

    Is Remy Ma pregnant? Did her and Papoose welcome their baby? The rapper left many of her fans questioning the status of her pregnancy after seeing her on State of the Culture.  She’s wore a hoody so it’s difficult to see her baby bump:

    I’m praying that Remy didn’t have another miscarriage.  She broke our heart last year, sharing her miscarriage with the world on Love and Hip Hop.

    The tweet above explains that Remy is due in December.  If Remy did suffer another miscarriage she would probably keep the news a secret.  Papoose recently revealed that him and Remy will appear on their own reality series title Remy & Papoose: Meet The Mackies.

    If Remy did suffer another miscarriage she’ll most likely let the world know during an episode of her new series.  The first episode is scheduled to premiere on October 1, 2018 at 9 PM ET.
