Cotton From Star TV Show

Cotton from the Star TV show is played by Amiyah Scott.  In episode 8, “Mama’s Boy” we see Cotton meet with Pastor Harris (Tyrese Gibson).  Queen Latifah’s character, Carlotta wants Pastor Harris to help fix Cotton.  Amiyah Scott is a transgender actress: She was born a boy and is now a female.

Like Amiyah, Cotton was born a boy and is now a female.  Pastor Harris’ prayers didn’t end up working.  He tries to use force in order to pray the sin out of Cotton.

Carlotta is very uncomfortable with the process.  Cotton breaks down and starts crying.  Carlotta then kicks the pastor out her house.

In another emotional scene, Cotton brings home a man.  Her and the man go on a date where Cotton reveals that she’s a man.  The man doesn’t mind that Cotton’s a male.  Cotton is shocked and decides to bring the man home to introduce her to Carlotta.

Carlotta refuses to shake the man’s hand.  Cotton can’t handle all the chaos in her life and ends up contemplating suicide.

Cotton has a gun to her head when Star comes in.  Star tells her to do it.  Luckily, Cotton thinks twice and she doesn’t do it.  Her and Star end up laughing about the situation on the bed.
