DeMatha Football Player Dies? Marcus Minor Injury

DeMatha football player, Marcus Minor is not dead.  Numerous people jumped to the conclusion that the senior Maryland commit passed away after seeing his name mentioned in multiple Twitter updates.  The lineman took a knee to the neck and laid motionless on the field for several minutes before being carried off on a gurney.

After Marcus was carted off the field he was taken to Montgomery General Hospital.  He told his teammates what happened as he was being carted off the field.  The DeMatha Stags defeated Good Counsel 21 to 7.

Marcus Minor announced his commitment to play at the University of Maryland in August 2016.  In the video below, Marcus gets emotional before announcing his decision:

The following video show the team’s head coach, Elijah Brooks, discussing Marcus’ injury:

The incident reminded many DeMatha fans of the team’s former lineman Rico Webb.  In 2012, Webb passed away from a blood clot in his lungs.  The talented lineman committed to Alabama State on a full football scholarship.  The team’s coach, Elijah Brooks, described Webb as a ferocious player who worked very hard.
