Hakeem Lyon’s songs were amazing this season and we decided to salute the new CEO of Empire by creating a post that features some of our favorite tracks by Hakeem aka Yazz. The Grammy-nominated star was recently added to the list of performers at the 11th Annual Barbados Music Awards. He will also be heading to Japan for Empire’s first USO tour.

Paper Magazine recently published an article explaining how perfect Gray would be as the next Spider-Man. The series could use an upgrade and Yazz would be perfect feature to remix Spider-Man.
Bryshere Gray Bio
Bryshere Gray’s bio begins with his birth on November 25, 1993 in Philadelphia, PA. The taletned 22-year-old shares a birthday with singer Trey Songz. Bryshere and his sister were raised by his mother in West Philadelphia. Gray attended Overbrook High School where he played football before suffering an injury when he was 16-years-old.
Gray’s injury led him to focus on music. He was working at Pizza Hut when he decided to start rapping and he quickly fell in love with it. Yazz understood the importance of sacrifice leading him to use some of his Pizza Hut-earnings to fund his first music video.
Yazz’s journey proves that success requires sacrifice. The talented rapper and actor has come a very long way since those Pizza Hut days, teaching us that sweat plus sacrifice equals success.
