Houston – Before And After Flooding

This post shows pictures of Houston before and after flooding.  Hurricane Harvey brought catastrophic floods and five people have died.  The Cajun Navy, an informal rescue service, is currently navigating through flood areas to help Houston’s residents.  Houston officials gave the group a green light to come in and assist with rescue efforts.

More than 5 million Houston residents are being impacted.  Tonight, the rain will stop for a few hours but then the thunderstorms will start again.  The economic impact will be in the billions.  This can be a historic flooding situation for the United States.

I’m sure Beyonce is donating money to her hometown.  Media outlets recently reported that the singer was interested in buying the Houston Rockets.

There is flash flooding all over the city and reporters are describing it as a series of islands.  There is water everywhere, making it impossible to travel.

There was more than 30 inches of rain in 24 hours.  Houston got a year’s worth of rain in this storm.

People are climbing into their attics and police are advising them to climb onto their roofs.  It’s Hurricane Katrina all over again.
