Your Verizon Fios Home Wi-Fi Extender, model E3200, has a light aka “Status LED” that will be on white and solid when the Extender is turned on and connected to the Internet. A solid white light means your Extender is functioning normally.
Fios Extender Blinking Yellow
If the light on your Fios Extender is blinking yellow it means the Extender is either too close or too far from your Fios Router.
To fix this problem, determine if your Extender is blinking fast yellow or slowly yellow and then follow the troubleshooting steps below.
Fios Extender Fast Blinking Yellow
If your Fios Extender starts fast blinking yellow, the Extender is too close to your Router. According to Verizon, a fast yellow blink means there is poor Wi-Fi coverage.
To fix this problem, move the Extender farther away from your Router.
If you moved your Fios Extender and it turned solid white but then starts blinking yellow again, try turning off your Extender by unplugging it. After you unplug it, do not immediately plug it back in, instead, wait 30 seconds and then plug it back in.

Fios Extender Slow Blinking Yellow
If you Fios Extender starts slow blinking yellow, the Extender is too far from the Router. According to Verizon, a slow yellow blink means that there is a poor backhaul signal.
To fix this problem, move the Extender closer to your Router.
According to Verizon, using a wired backhaul, the Extender can be placed at a location distant from the Fios Router, and positioned for optimum coverage. Using Wi-Fi backhaul, performance can be slower and the distance from your Router will be determined by the reach of Wi-Fi from the Router, along with the items in the home and neighboring Wi-Fi traffic.
Wi-Fi backhaul is effective for Wi-Fi configuration, but based on Wi-Fi interference characteristics, doesn’t perform as effectively as a wired connection.
Fios Extender Status LED Chart
If your Fios Extender’s LED is a different color, use the following chart to determine what it means.
You want a solid white light, which means that your Extender is connected to the Internet and operating normally. Verizon explains that the Fios Extender takes your Wi-Fi coverage to a higher level, by extending Wi-Fi coverage beyond your Fios Router (G3100).
