The rumor that YNW Melly is transgender is false. MTO News made the claim in a recent article. The rapper, whose real name is Jamell Maurice Demons, was born a male on May 1, 1999 in Gifford, Florida. The 19-year-old is still a male.
YNW Melly Charged With Double Murder Of His 2 Childhood Friends
XXL reports that YNW Melly has pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder. The Miramar, Florida police department believes the rapper shot and killed his two friends Anthony Williams aka YNW Sakchaser and Christopher Thomas Jr. aka YNW Juvy.
YNW Melly claims that he’s innocent and recently shared the following Instagram pic of himself alongside Sakchaser, Juvy and Cortlen Henry aka YNW Bortlen.
YNW Melly rose to fame thanks to success of hit songs like Murder on My Mind and Mixed Personalities featuring Kanye West.
YNW Melly Allegedly Staged Murders To Look Like A Drive-By Shooting
According to Complex, YNW Melly and YNW Bortlen tried to make the double murder look like a drive-by shooting. Bortlen drove the two dead bodies to Memorial Hospital Miramar on October 26, 2018 and claimed that they were shot and killed in a random drive-by shooting.
Evidence Shows That YNW Melly Shot His 2 Friends
Investigators worked hard to find evidence that contradicts Bortlen’s story. Court documents explain that the shots that killed Sakchaser and Juvy were fired from within the car they were riding in. Video evidence helped investigators conclude that the shots were fired from the left rear passenger side of the vehicle, where YNW Melly was sitting.
