For Jamila Velazquez, Empire’s Laura Calleros, appearing in 9 episodes of Empire’s second season is a dream come true. Prior to Empire the actress/singer played Sarita on ABC Family’s show ‘Twisted’ yet that show was not nearly as popular as Fox’s hip-hop drama that continues to break records!
Velazquez is one of our favorite additions to the Empire Season 2 cast and we loved the way she helped Hakeem see the light in the last episode of Empire. the show’s Latin star power is shining bright this season including appearances by Becky G and Pitbull.

Jamila Velazquez was born on November 27, 1995 in the South Bronx, New York. The Puerto Rican, Dominican and Ecuadorian actress began singing in kindergarten. Velazquez made her Broadway debut in the play ‘The End of You’ when she was only 8 years old!
