Jared from Insecure is played by actor, Langston Kerman. The actor and stand up comedian was a part of Chris Rock’s writing staff for the 2016 Academy Awards. Kerman was born and raised in Oak Park, Illinois and now lives in Brooklyn, New York. Jared graduated from the University of Michigan.
In the fifth episode of Insecure‘s first season, “Shady As F**k” Molly (Yvonne Orji) shows up to Jared’s place drunk after things with Chris don’t work out.

Insecure was created by actress, writer and producer, Issa Rae. The 31-year-old is also the star of the series, similar to Donald Glover who created and stars in the FX series Atlanta.
Issa is best known as the creator of the web series, Awkward Black Girl. On Insecure she plays a character named Issa, who is loosely based on her. The show is about Issa’s life as a woman on the brink of 30, trying to figure things out.
Molly is Issa Rae’s best friend on the series. She’s a successful attorney who is very confident. Similar to Issa, Molly’s love life can use some guidance.
