Jason Boek is the 34-year-old passenger who was shot by Uber driver Robert Westlake. The New York Post explains that the incident occurred in Florida and Westlake is claiming self-defense.

In the video below, the Polk County Sheriff describes the incident as a “classic stand your ground case.” Jason pulls up on the Uber driver and forces him to stop his vehicle. Jason then threatens to shoot the Uber driver and the Uber driver, Robert Westlake shoots and kills Jason.

The Polk County Sheriff further explains that Robert Westlake was licensed to carry a concealed firearm in the state of Florida and he recently completed the police academy.
