Jussie Smollett To Star In Food Network’s “Smollett Eats”

Jussie Smollett broke out as an actor on Empire and he’ll be back on the hit Fox show as Jamal Lyon for Season 3. But he and his famous siblings are about to take over the Food Network, too. Jussie Smollett will star in Smollett Eats on the Food Network, along with sister Jurnee (who stars in Underground), brother Jake Smollett (Eve’s Bayou, and he’s a chef), Jocqui and Jojo and sister Jazz.

According to Variety, the network has ordered 6 half-hour episodes of the new show, which will premiere in August. “It’s an exciting time for Food Network as demand for food-centric content seems to be at an all-time high,” said Didi O’Hearn, senior VP of programming for Food Network and Cooking Channel.

Jussie Smollett voiced his excitement about the show on Instagram last weekend. “Something to smile about,” he wrote in the caption. “Proud to be executive producing and appearing with my siblings in #SmollettEats for @foodnetwork. This has been a dream of @jakesmollett for so long and I’m hyped for the world to see what baby bro and the rest of us have up our culinary sleeves.”
