Kyle Rittenhouse – Parents, Victims, Legal Fund

Kyle Rittenhouse is the 17-year-old accused of shooting two men in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Washington Post reports that Kyle grew up in Chicago and as a child he idolized police. He posted “Blue Lives Matter” on his Facebook page where he is seen with another young male, holding guns.

Kyle Rittenhouse Mother Wendy Lewis

The New York Times reports that Kyle Rittenhouse’s mother, “Wendy Rittenhouse” aka “Wendy Lewis”, is a nurse’s aide. In January of 2017, Wendy filed a restraining order against one of Kyle’s classmates. She claimed the student called Kyle “dumb” and threatened to hurt him. Wendy eventually dropped the case.

No much is known about Kyle’s father. ABC reports that prior to the shooting, Kyle lived in an apartment 30 minutes away from Kenosha, with his single 45-year-old mother.

The following tweet explains that Rittenhouse’s mother could be arrested for allegedly driving Kyle to Wisconsin and arming him with weapons that he was not old enough to legally own or carry in Illinois or Wisconsin.

Kyle Rittenhouse Victims: Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber

Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber were the two men shot and killed by Rittenhouse. The Chicago Tribune reports that Rittenhouse first shot and killed Rosenbaum and then shot and Huber. After shooting and killing Rosenbaum and Huber, Rittenhouse shot Gaige Grosskreutz in his arm.

According to Slate, a conservative student group at Arizona State University is raising money for Kyle’s legal defense. On Thursday, August 27, 2020, GoFundMe confirmed that it removed campaigns created on its site in support of Rittenhouse.
